Post by: skydiver on March 13, 2019, 09:03:33 AM
For those who are in Edinburgh over the last weekend of March, the Lyceum offers a workshop on "Local Hero: Musical Direction"

On facebook it says:

Join musical director Gary Cameron to explore how music is used within theatre. Participants will explore key musical ideas with contemporary theatre and within our production of Local Hero. If you are a Mark Knopfler fan then head along to this Saturday workshop!

Book here: https://lyceum.org.uk/take-pa…/community/full-day-workshops/

On the website it says:

Local Hero: Musical Direction 30 March 2019

Music has become a key part of Lyceum productions over the past few seasons, so join one of our musical theatre professionals to explore how music is used within theatre.  Participants will explore key music ideas within contemporary theatre and the growing trend of actor-musicians. This workshop will also offer an insight into our World Premiere production of Local Hero. This workshop is designed to suit everyone, from people with very little musical experience, to those with a good knowledge of music.

Looks like very interesting...

Bad that I live so far and so expensive flights to Edinburgh from where I live  :(

As I read it the workshop is intended for actor/singer types to go along and have a bit of fun participating.  I'm certainly not going along only to clear the house!  :lol  Not really intended as an insight or sneaky peak at the musical.
