I recently discovered the music of a guy called Michael McDermott, who also plays with his wife in a band called The Westies. The songwriting of this guy is phenomenal. It's so good it's hard to believe. Like me also the writer Stephen King thinks Michael McDermott is “One of the greatest songwriters in the world”. In the 90s they thought he will become the next Bob Dylan or Bruce Springsteen, but drugs got in the way. Now he has overcome his addiction and is making his come back.
As we all know Mark is a big admirer of Bob Dylan. And I am sure Mark would like what McDermott puts out there. And I think most Knopfler fans will love his music too. If you are not familiar with this artist. Like i was till recently. I really recommend to check his music out. The music is so authentic and pure. And it's also beautifully recorded for the audiophiles out there.
