It's always too hard to analyse someone's playing while he's playing OVER the the original recording. That way pretty much anyone plays like a God.

No, I'm not jealous. I played like that when I was a kid, although all I had was a cheap Squier Strat, but this guy plays on the high end MK Strat.
I'm not a fan of talented kids, because you never know who you're looking at. Chances are 10 years later he will end up playing guitar once a month like I do. Besides, playing over the record, as I said, is not the best way to showcase talents, it's like singing in the shower with Luciano Pavarotti record playing on the background. Turn this music off and show us what's you really up to!
Let's see this kid in 10 years and you'll see wether he's "young Knopfler" or not. Hats off to his parents with great taste in music tho :clap

I am truly stunned by the above comments...
I'm afraid I disagree wholeheartedly and would only encourage a young lad like that further....
Seems almost 5k people like Sultans!!

Hey Knopflerfan, don't get me wrong. I love when young lads plays great, and I want to encourage them to get even better!

This is the song I'm working on right now and and as you can see there's no original playing on the background.

I didn't listen because I know you play the Knopfler style very well, and it's clear you can hear more easily how someone plays without background music. But how much older and how much longer have you played than that kid? Posting your own stuff in the context of discussing a young boy is a bit weird, man.

Why always so serious, guys? The world has its colors, it’s not always black and white... You talk about this kid like we Russians talk about deceased people — good only or nothing at all.
I just said — mkay, he’s good, but I’d turn off the background music because it’s not fair for the listener and hides absolutely every possible mistake and automatically sounds great.
He uploads it on YouTube hence wants the feedback, I’ve given it.

for someone who has enough playing knowledge/experience there are zero problems analyzing someone playing with background music,
just need to see what the fingers are doing, no need to hear anything at all
