As a Hank fan, I got sent an email today informing me of a new 3x CD & Vinyl release on the 28th June 2019..
It is a compilation album but of note is that the beautiful 'Wonderful land' played by Hank & MK from 1993 is on both releases.
The track 'NIVRAM' (Marvin spelt backwards!) Which was the B side of Hanks & MKs 'Wonderful land' vinyl single is also on this CD album...

I have never heard Mark mention Jeff Lynne, but I have seen a photo from the session of all three men.

It is a testament to the high regard Hank has for Mark that he himself choose the tracks for this release and he included their work together.

I think it's difficult for our non UK friends to appreciate just how big Cliff and The Shadows are here.
Not only that, Hank is literally part of the language.
MK will sell more records and tickets, but the name Hank Marvin is unquestionably better recognised here than Mark Knopfler.

Hank and the Shadows are History, they had a deep impact on many many people, worldwide.

Yeah, I didn't though.
Here in the UK Hank is not only famous as a guitarist (cited as an influence by Page, Gilmour, May, The Beatles) but his name has entered the language. People say they are Hank Marvin if they are "starving".
