Historic venue for any fan...

"do the Bug"...

Interesting that his pre Bacon Roll speech tonight included bits from the old one and bits from the new one. So he said he has to retire but he likes playing for us so what can he do? Nothing about playing until he drops.
No HFOH tonight either.
-
John Illsley is there !

That's a bit cryptic!
Your teasing us.
Is he in the audience or on stage!

No worries Kris 😀 That would have been big news!

Same set as St Julien.
-
Early plane to catch!
-
Ouch.
The last gigs he seems maybe a bit exhausted.
2 songs less in Nimes is a bit sad. Airport restrictions again?

It certainly doesn't stop him talking! The long speech before MM and extended band intro before Bonaparte must take up almost 10 minutes of the show.
-
True.
My new Pee Pause instead of Romeo. The speech is longer... ;D
10mns where he does not need to play. So talking is maybe more comfortable these days
One could never imagine such a speech at times of OES Tour

Older people tent to talk more on stage... I know a jazz musician who's in his mid 70s and he can talk for 40 minutes in a 2-hour jazz set.
If you ask me, I like when musicians tell stories on stage, it's better than just playing songs with poker face and grab money afterwards.

Some people told a friend of mine who was attending Nimes that during the soundcheck the band played 5.15.a.m but can't confirm if that is true or not, as my friend didn't hear it himself...

Interesting if true. So out goes OES then? Maybe even Speedway; he's sounding really tired playing that the last few shows IMO.

He seriously only got himself to blame for that. This isn't classical music or a Broadway show, where every night should be the same. Mix it up a little! I would go nuts if I were in his band. Going by how little Richard (and Guy) actually writes about the show and how interesting the in-flight cocktails and meals are, I guess it says it all. It's another (well-paid) day at the job.

We were in Place Du Marche around the time of the soundcheck, and one of the Bars were playing 5-15 am. That’s probably what was heard.
When we came out of the Arena the same bar was playing Wye Aye Man. Trying to attract MK fans no doubt. ;D
Pondy.

Just imagine if John had walked on stage at the end - even not to play. Would've been amazing for the fans. I'm guessing Mark wouldn't go for it.

Like Paul McCartney had Ringo as a special guest 3 days ago. He said I love you, Paul said I love you, the crowd went absolutely nuts. It's not rocket science, but Mark is a slow learner :lol

Fabulous photo!!!

Funny that Mark needs to wear an Access All Areas pass round his neck! :lol
Great picture though. Of the final line-up: three out of four ain't bad!
