I thought we could talk and maybe discuss the obvious mistakes/greenies made by the guys so far on stage. This is not a thread intended to criticize them, rather a thread to name some funny moments from this tour. Ok I'll start:
*Bordeaux, they are supposed to play NDT, but Ianto starts with the CBC drum intro, realising this after a while and immidiately adapts to the NDT drumming
*Corned Beef City again. Think it was either Córdoba/Lisbon.. during final verse, instead of singing "don't ask questions, when there's nothing in the bank", Mark sings:
"got to keep it going, cuz there's nothing on his bank"
*Alesund, MFN. Most of you have probably heard this fail already during the start of Mark's guitar playing. They edited this out in the soundboard recording...
Keep them coming :lol
-
This could be a long thread! :lol
-
MK sang the final verse of Speedway twice at RAH 1.
-
"Merci bien!"
While playing in...Milan! :smack ;D

Classic - great recording to have!!!
-
In Antwerp they played BIA. Something went wrong with his guitar when he wanted to start the song after the intro. MK looked to the side at someone from his crew. After a few seconds his guitarsound came up just at the time i believe the band was starting the intro again. Perhaps it is on youtube somewhere….

Funny that something like that could happen in a world where even amps are now digital!

I'm looking for a concert where Mark forgot his headphones :)
-
Not DTRW Tour but Ive forgetten the concert but there is a brief moment power is cut to MKs Strat during Sultans....If looks could kill!!!
-
I have not seen that.
-
There have been a couple of power cuts in Spain:
Badalona 2001 during Bonaparte and the audience start to sing along!
Zaragoza 2005 during Rudiger and no, it wasn't me who flicked the switch! ;D

Mark acts astonishingly unprofessional here. The true professionals are the ones behind him. This performance was destroyed by his behaviour, not by the technical mistake. But he's human after all. I often wonder if he does those heavy mistakes on Sultans by purpose. ;D
LE
-
Fair play to MK though, he was in the middle of a 'lick' and to suddenly lose the sound obviously was a shock but indeed his professionalism showed by 'carrying on'
It took him a few bars to gain confidence that the sound wasn't going to suddenly disappear again!!!

No gig is ever perfect, no matter what anyone says, these people are human not robots, every musician has made mistakes, It's no big deal. I prefer to focus on the positive, not the negative.
-
Exactly !

I remember this video from 2010:

And I also remember the wrong capo on Richard's guitar during BIA, I think it was 2005 Amsterdam or Rotterdam ;D

Very good find...
-
In my opinion Mark handled these situations very well, kept his coolness, laughed about it and carried on with the show. Great man!

I think Ian has problems there as well. Shortly after MK’s sound comes back, you can see Ian signalling.
I know not everyone likes him or his style but to carry on playing the drum part one handed (presumably with no sound) while looking so relaxed is quite something.
-
Well spotted..... :clap

Nick Mason lost his drum stick when performing One of These Days on Live at Pompeii and recovered really well and quickly:

I remember when I first watched Pink Floyd Live at Pompeii being surprised that the footage on One Of These Days focused almost entirely on Nick Mason's drumming. Was this a deliberate decision? I remember reading that the footage of the other members had been lost, hence why Mason dominates that section of the film, but I'm not sure if this is true or not. Nonetheless, watching him not break a sweat and recover despite the mistake is a memorable moment.
-
Yes, that's true, that is the reason it's Nick's time to shine.
-
On the Pink Floyd 'Gaff' theme, I watched the 'Live in Venice' 1989 film last night and came across a beauty with DG totally missing the Start of 'Wish you were here' followed by a wry smile!!
It's at 1min20...

very minor, in Knebworth 90 he played the wrong chord during Run Like Hell, it was edited in the official release, if you have the radio show the mistake is there
-
And there's me thinking along with qjamesfloyd that DG was perfect - again he is human after all!!! :lol :lol :lol
-
Don't forget the 2019 show at Bordeaux where Ianto storms in with the start of 'Corned Beef City' and has to slow down as it's actually 'Nobody does that' they are about to play!!!!

At the start of WII (8:30), there's something wrong, I guess with the gain/volume of his guitar.

I think there are already a topic about this, if not two.

Puts on a bit of a sprint to get to it! Not sure he'd make it there until the song was finished these days.

29 march 2008, we couldn't hear MK sing in the front during the first song of the first show (Cannibals). On the bootleg you can notice it clearly, i have only this small clip where you can hear the background singers (don't know who)

I’d imagine that’s Matt and Guy singing, possibly Danny too.
