Post by: DS on September 28, 2019, 02:58:04 PM
So I fell in love with these two beautiful songs:

Do you know any other song with that calm, relaxing style? What's your favourite?

Our own Richard Bennett got several tunes that are in the same vein.

Ry Cooder also have a lot of instrumentals. I particularly like these two:

Lots from Mike Oldfield:
Cuckoo Song, Wonderful Land, Molly, Mount Teide, Etude, Sentinel, Clear Light, Red Dawn/The Bell, Weightless, The Great Plain, Sunset Door/Tattoo, Maya Gold, In The Beginning, Supernova/Magellan/First Landing, Prayer For The Earth/Lament For Atlantis, Hibernaculum, The Shining Ones, Ascension, The Song of The Sun, Celtic Rain, The Hero, The Voyager, Dark Island, Flowers of The Forest, Mont St. Michel, The Inner Child, The Top of The Morning, Moonwatch, Muse, Embers, Summit Day, Enigmatism, Peace on Earth, Lake Constance, Liberation/Amber Light, No Mans Land, Return To The Origin, Landfall, Turtle Island, Firefly, Introduction, Peace, Ambient Guitars, Closer, Sunset, Animus/silhouette, Musica Universalis, Return To Ommadawn Part 1 & 2, Silent Night, Moonlight Stroll, Rebirth Tunnel, (Waldberg) The Peak.
Tracks with / between them should be played one after another.

You should find something in the above that you would like, his guitar playing is just as good as Mark, he has  a wonderful touch and tone, and sense of melody.

I would also add, Cluster One and Marooned by Pink Floyd.

Check out Leo Kottke. Brilliant guitarplayer. Especially his album 'One Guitar, No Vocals'. Brilliant stuff. Pottel knows more gems from him if you want to find out more.

if you like Chris Rea's instrumentals, I recommend these two ones, featuring on "Dancing with strangers" (1987) :
