I would like to second those wishes to everyone on AMIT.

shangri la, Thanks for the great picture, and reminder to everyone that not everyone would be cosy at Christmas-time with this kind of mess outside!  Hopefully, 2020, if not before, will find your fires all out.  We wish you a better New Year!   :wave

ds1984, That poor Frosty.  One would think he would know better than to celebrate Christmas in a hot tub! ;D

Hi Surplinda, Yes we have an amazing bunch of HEROES who dedicate their time for free to fight these fires. Some have been in the field since August when the biggest of these 900 or so fires first ignited! They risk life and limb for the society they live in! They even have time to help the poor little Koala's who have lost their habitat. Xmas really is a time for giving where these brave men & women are concerned. Such a shame our Government don't share these views.

So great to see these fire fighters!  My husband was one, although not a volunteer.  When we were out on a ranger station, I occasionally got called in to man his base station, as he would be out far enough that he couldn't connect with his supervisory base.  I'm glad those days are long gone!  It's sad to hear that you have had what may be such a long fire season.  It is always a relief when it is done for that particular season.  We wish you a much better New Year!   :thumbsup
