We wanted to go to Edinburgh, but I don't see a date yet and IF there will be a date, it might be in July. In that case it would be difficult to go, because we have our summer vacation at the end of July and perhaps go to Greece again for 2 weeks. So I don't want to take a risk and that is why I choose for:
BRIGHTON ....or ....BOURNEMOUTH! ;D We stay there for a few days and except the concert (the reason we go) we will stay there for a little vacation. I can't choose yet! :o It is a hard decision, but I know I have to decide before tomorrow midday! ::)
We will be in Amsterdam (but I won't buy tickets yet tomorrow. I hope there will be an extra date at Sunday June 27!) ;D
I am looking forward to meet all the fans I met before and of course new ones too! :-*

It is easier to travel with the plane, train and busses. It should say on your confirmation e-mail that you'll find out 6-8 weeks beforehand where your seating is. It does on mine for Glasgow anyway.

Yes, that reminds me though that the last time MK played in the SECC, Glasgow was with The Straits back in September 1991 (11th - 14th). I believe it was the first venue after the OES album was released, it being released during the Birmingham run on the 9th.

They played the 4 nights at the SECC. I went on the 13th. I remember it was a Friday night (Friday the 13th :-[) because I went through after school with my parents and met my English teachers' son and daughter at the concert who my Dad gave a lift home to and when I went back to school on Monday my teacher spoke to me about the show. Quite nice memories of that show.
My English teacher at the time was a bit of a Guy Fletcher in that he could turn his hand to anything; he used to manage a local football team at the weekend and give us free tickets to watch the games!

Yes. I actually met someone after the Glasgow show in 2001 while I was waiting to meet MK who said they recorded the show on 13.09.91 so I swapped adresses and they were kind enough to send me a copy of the show and the 2001 Glasgow one too. The person I spoke to never traded with anyone so I circulated these two recordings firstly with Jeroen van Tol (On Every Bootleg).
I makes one wonder just how many other recordings are out there not having been circulated yet...

I have tickets for Oslo 13. June! ;D It's the Norwegian Wood festival, a very nice music festival. 8000 tickets each day for 4 days, thursday to sunday. MK is closing act on sunday. Doors at 12 I think. Different bands all afternoon and evening, untill MK is on at around 9 pm. The festival is located at Frognerbadet, a public outdoor bath in the corner of a very nice huge park, Frognerparken. Inside the park there's a spectacular sculpture park, Vigelandsparken. I know this area like the inside of my pockets, as this is the area were I was groing up. I even learned to swim in one of the pools in this park.
Some of this years headliners: Neil Young, Nick Cave, Duffy, The Pretenders. Previous years: Foo Fighters, Alanis Morissette, Queen of the stone age, Brian Wilson, Roger Waters, Lou Reed, David Bowie, Van Morrison, Johnny Cash, Emmylou Harris etc.

One more very nice thing: The concerts at Norwegian Wood is being recorded for radio and TV by NRK (Norwegian Broadcasting corporation)!!! That means we'll probably have some high quallity audio and video from the MK show!

You probably right, Maarten, but it's NRK! That's the Norwegian BBC. Extremely serious and a guarantist for quality. OK, mayby not too valid a point. But i think they broadcast all the other world famous artist I named above, so there is a chance.
An interesting thing about how well Mk is known in Norway: EVERY major Norwegian newspaper has had articles about MK coming to Norwegian Wood and to Bergen next summer. He is described as a "norgesvenn", a friend of Norway that means, and is a term used for famous artist who visit Norway regularly.

Well well well I am soooo chuffed!
Had a new baby girl this year and really thought that the old spondoolies would not allow me to see Knopfler next year which was so upsetting as money is tight!
But, yay not only am I going to see the band next year but I get to take my Son who's 11 and my Daughter who is 9 with me too after promising for a few years.
My daughters favourite song was Walk Of Life although it has now been relegated to second favourite now as a new artist has taken top spot grrrrr LOL! My son has always loved Lady Writer!
Anyway my kids are now of an appreciative age and seriously were so excited when I told them that I have tickets for them at Brighton Centre 27th May 2010!
So I got 6 tickets, one for me, one for my son, one for my daughter, one for my Mum, one for my wife if she can go!!!!!! and one extra one for some lucky bugger!
OMG very excited now as my dream of taking my kids is now happening for real!

just booked two seats for the Antwerp Lotto Arena. know that this is notthe "sportpaleis" where mark played in 2005 but the second venue there, next door that is about two times smaller.

Just got in for the NYC presale. Tickets are too expensive for me, plus other friends that I got to shows with, that it doesn't make sense to drive to Redbank, NJ for a second show. Just can't see spending that much money on one band.

Regarding my earlier comments about the Metro Radio Arena at Newcastle - I still don't like it but.....looking at their website it appears the show will only take up one third of the hall therefore maybe only 3000 fans will be there - this is a lot cosier than the 10,000 I envisaged but does not explain why MK turned his back on Newcastle City Hall - his home from home :(

No,never do,Belfast is a lifetime away from me,its easier to get to London,believe me from wher I am - I've never been accross the border would you believe ::) ::) I wouldnt be a border reiver if you know what I mean - Ubhal is from Belfast though.
Its just up on ticketmaster.ie but its not up on the o2 site yet - the o2 is a better venue than the RDS by miles,but they were renovating last year so they had to have it on in the RDS.

WLM, have you never been over the border :o We'll have to get you up north to Belfast. Two and a half hours on the bus. Bus leaves Dublin on the hour, every hour, day and night. The same going back to Dublin from Belfast, on the hour, every hour. I thought sure Ireland was being missed out this time, thankfully noy by the looks of things.

As I told we also will be in Brighton (UK) for the concert and according to Jans one concert is enough, BUT .........I bought yesterday 2 tickets for Amsterdam also (he doesn't know yet :o).
You know for me it is not only the concert I am looking forward to, but also contact with the fans. I see that Pottel, Waldo (I asume Noella will be there also?) ,Ingridswing, BBB will be there and it is great when I can meet them again. He said that in reply to somebody saying the dates have been announced on MK's facebook. Which would make sense. But they haven't been announced on MK's official FB, so I'd say, the list is not complete yet.

I would have liked to go to Antibes if he did it there again. I think the last time was in 1996 for Golden Heart, so I was hoping for a return visit. I also feel very sorry for those unable to go to a concert in their homeland. I would have liked Zurich too, but that venue is doubtful at the moment, I think. :-\

If people, like yourself, are unable to attend a concert, how is the question of identity, ie the person who bought the ticket must produce their credit card and photo, dealt with? Will you be present at the box office, together with the prospective purchaser, for instance? This would not be possible in most cases. I am just curious, because I am sure many people will not be able to attend the concerts. :-\

When time is coming nearer I will inform you about when we can pick up tix for A'dam.
I am pretty sure it can be done earlier, but anyhow we have to queue early and if pick-up-time is later we leave the queue for the tix and come back one by one. Most of the time in A'dam no problem with coming back where you were before.

So how did you get the information Pottel? (or in other words, what's the line-age of this info?)
The fact that I have sent you a scan of a ticket for the show might be a clue to you, but it does not say my MK tour is limited to that single show.
Anyway, I only want to be listed on a public forum if I request to do so, thank you.

I understand those people who have a not so good feeling about being listed this way in a public forum, but I really must say that this thing grew from the very first posts, it was not really planned to this extent, and everybody requested Pottel to put him/her into the list, so no ill means on Mr. Pottels side I am sure! However, I prefer to be found as Love Expresso in this list and not with my real name... So maybe it is possible to slightly change those names to everybody's satisfaction?

Stay cool Pottell, everyone appreciates the good work you have done on this thread and on the site in general. But I think it is a fair poin, it is unlikely to be a problem but unfortunately the internet can be used for all sorts of malicious purposes and somebody (ann employer for example) could easily take a joke we have made on here out of context. It's much better that people can post freely under their screen name safe in the knowledge that there won't be repurcussions, so best if personal info is removed when requested, not a big deal. :)

I'll be attending the June 28th and June 30th concerts in Amsterdam. Just bought the ticket for the June 30th concert as I wanted to see Mark at least 2 times just as in 2008 ! ;D

I think I already made clear that I did NOT request to be in that list.
Sending a ticket does not necessarily mean that it is mine, that I will be there, that I will record this show and that I have to (!) spread the recording.
I have other tickets with my name and address on it, any idea why I won't send these ones?

Please try! Because last time (2008) we were having a drink after the cnocert and the underground didn't go anymore, so we had to take a taxi. The more people the lower the cost ;-) And value for money in the travelodge is pretty good.
Checked the price GBP 59,30 for that night now, we paid less but booked months ago. There are some cheaper Travelodges still abailable, didn't check the location by the way.

i wanna be as close to the RAH as possible. i think farringdon is a bit further ( i believe our UK headoffice is there..)

Jans and I won't be there this year, but I hope in 2 years when there will be a new Tour, that ALL the members of this forum can make an appointment and be there all together at the first evening .....Imagine that would be great! ;D

I also will be at the first night at the RAH, but I have a very ... tight schedule. I am planning to take the plane back to Germany on early Monday morning at 6:00 am, so I did not book any accommodation but want to have a drink maybe after the show, eat something, meet some forumers maybe and then try
to get back to Stansted from 1:00 on... Hope everything works out fine! goldenheart96 will get my second ticket, and of course I am looking forward
to meet some of the "famous" forumers indeed!

I haven't been around the forums much lately, but my love of MK's music remains! I'm going to the show in Red Bank on May 5. That is supposed to be a very nice small venue, got seats in Row C and from the early reports on this forum this may be the best tour yet!! We will all know before very long!! There is a small chance I will try to get tickets for the AC show, depends on the Red Bank show and whether or not tix are still around at that point!

Hi rygman. I think we met at MK's concert in Philadelphia in 2008. I hope you will report to us about the Red Bank concert. I considered going to that one and Atlantic City, but ended up getting tickets for Upper Darby, PA (Tower) and Wash.D.C. instead .... so I will report on those concerts.
I have 22 more days to wait .... :'(

Hi Fieneke and joanzimm! Yes joanzimm we met at the 2008 Philadelphia concert because of the now legendary 'Knopflerado' t-shirt I was wearing, (thanks to Gbobmi whereever you may be and remembering better days before we knew each others political opinions :) :o).
That was the best MK concert I've been fortunate enough to see yet! By all accounts it seems like this year will be even better!! (is that possible?) Sorry that we will not be at the same shows this year but I will definitely make some time and report on the Red Bank show. I really think there will be several reports for that one so don't worry.
Fieneke I see you are still livening up these forums (and the others as well?) as much as you always did! It's too much to take in now, the several forums (so I just check this one, and just now and then), Guy's forum (try to check regularly), Richard's, errr....the blog by Isaac, Tim White....too much altho I'm glad it is all available. The thing is, Guy is really putting out great Diary entries and his forum is already a lot to read--I basically skim that. It is amazing tho that together between all this info we are getting such an insider's view of the Get Lucky Tour--it's pretty great to be an MK fan!

Nice to have finally found this forum. Enjoy reading all you good peoples' comments, I wondered why TK's forum had gone quiet! Not made up my mind whether to go this year or not, I can't do the RAH run as I'm on holiday at the time. I thiught I'd wait to see the setlists and reviews before committing myself to travelling to Brighton or Birmingham. Have to say I'm underwhelemd so far. Its basically the last tour's set list with a couple of new songs added. And they seem a bit too close to the album versions from the bootlegs so far. Don't get me wrong, I'd love it on the night regardless of what he plays but it looks just a little like going through the motions to me so I'm not convinced that I'll bother. But wbho knows....... ::)

Cheers dmg. I suspect my resolve will probably waver as the UK leg of the tour gets nearer. The dates are bad for me this time round because of holidays and other commitments but I suspect it will be easy enough to get a single ticket for Brighton or Bournemouth. If the setlist tweaks a little over the next couple of weeks (is there a smiley for a flying pig? ::)) I might be tempted. Are ther any meet ups going on?

Just got a last minute birthday surprise (although my birthday isn't until August) and that is a visit to the RAH to see MK! Add me for the 31st. Just a flying visit though because I won't arrive until after 15:00 and I have to leave for home the next day.

Well well, I just received the message there won't be a M&G at all for me. Guy replied to a friend of mine (who actually won the M&G for two people) there won't be any M&G's no more. Instead he got two tickets for the show in Cologne (I already have one, can't attend one show twice hah!). Just wanted to let you know how it ended. :P
