+1

Im playing the show and at first sensation is very wonderful, complete show with great sound, sure that is an filming official, in the sense that made by internal production GREAT
-
wow thank you very much for this treasure.
It seems the second in house monitor recording
So after 2001 we have 2008
Isn't it the only SB Recording of the KTGC Tour?
Cannot remember any other
-
Hey straitsway75 did you manage to rip all the audio without the silence parts in SAN and TR?

The silent part on part Cannibals Speedway and first part Telegraph road sadly are in but happyness for the rest.
Working for make better with audacity the sound. A great hill farmer blues and sailing to philadelphia are on it....

I don’t think it’s due to copyright, most likely an issue with the recording sadly.
-
This makes me wonder, how many more of these recordings may exist? there are always a few shows each tour that have cameras recording for the big screens... are the recordings sitting on a drive in some office somewhere? O2 2019 for example, we’ve seen footage from that show used in news interviews etc, would be amazing for these to surface.
The audio mix won’t always be the best since it’s most likely straight from the desk, but it’s much better than anything we’ve had via the official channels recently.
-
Many thanks for this video. I'm only half-way through, so far, but enjoying it very much. I was surprised to see a few people I know in the audience at the beginning of Sultans! ;D I hope some more filmed recordings of this tour surface eventually.

sure, and I think it's something deliberately done by Mark's technicians, to prevent someone from having a full concert, complete with professional shots, available as in this case.
The fact that just from Speedway to Telegraph road is muted, that is, the highlight of the show is no coincidence
In any case I am truly grateful that one of Mark's most beautiful tours is finally in our hands, which deserved not only official downloads but also a nice DVD, in the same concert Why aye man, What it is, Sailing, first live edition of Hill farmers blues, Marbletown, Telegraph one of the best Speedway, and a lovely clean Local Hero .... I am happy

The stage in 2008 was epic with the National centrepiece. I can still remember it coming down during SAN, goosebumps!
-
It shows Guy playing acoustic in HFB. I don’t recall him playing guitar in that track. How long did that last? I don’t think he played it during the whole KTGC TOUR.
-
Absolutely magic! Great sound with Mark's guitar and vocal not buried in the mix. Also the shooting and editing of the footage has been expertly done, unlike Roadrunning where we see everyone's back and choice of footwear for the majority. ::)

I always thought it was a massive shame that there was never any soundboard evidence of the Kill to Get Crimson tour. Mark and the band really took their game to the next level at that point. I had hoped we might one day get some official downloads of shows from 2008 but it becomes more unlikely as time goes on. I believe there was a soundboard recording of one of the Albert Hall shows which had been captured from the band’s in-ear monitor radio signal, but it was quickly intercepted and (perhaps understandably) disallowed from being shared. So this is the nearest we have ever had to a complete recording of one of these shows.
It’ll be interesting to see how long this video remains live on YouTube…!
-
interesting for the video part above all,
the low sound dynamic makes it not much enjoyable, an excellent AUD would sound better
-
A great find after all these years!
Like many others I'm really intrigued as to the original source. The initial sound gaps at the beginning sound like uhf transmitter dropouts. The mix is dry and highly compressed making it unlikely to be a FOH mix. Sounds more like a monitor mix, especially the way marks guitar and the voices are so prominent.
-

I'm glad to read this, after reading so many times that the KTGC tour was the begining of the end, a "major drop in guitar playing"... Even dmg seems to appreciate the tour now ! :)
Yes there were some unfortunate things in this tour, such as the infamous "karaoke mode" for TR... but this tour also brought HFB, hands down one of Mark's best solo songs live ! So even though I think the 2010 GL tour was better executed, I still like 2008 very much...

Yes, that was the tour that someone broke into the in ear monitors. Still want to punch that person in his/her face (kidding) as it ruined my meet and greet. ::) :disbelief :lol Guy was so busy trying to fix the system and making it more secure that he forgot about the M&G. Can’t blame them in the end, but it pretty sucks I can gell if you’re waiting in front of the arena with a printed email and everyone is telling you you’re an idiot trying to get in there. :smack
Anyway, this recording of the Greek is nice! :clap

Where was Michael McGoldrick?

Where was Michael McGoldrick?
John joined the touring band in 2008. Mike didn’t join until the Get Lucky tour in 2010.

Hey Binone !
How did you restore the missing sound on speedway and Telegraph ? I know you are a magician, but still... :)

With the audience recording existing

Oh, you mean the soundboard audio from today? I didn't do it. Just imagine, because I can't talk about that. Once upon a time...

Very well done binone

Thanks binone as always. You are da man
A great concert from the last excellent MK tour
After that it went downwards tour by tour

Certainly not in terms of leisure and luxury for the band :lol
Yes, a very good job. I dreamed about any decent 2008 bootleg for a long time, I love Cannibals as an opener, what a fun little song.

Yes Binone is Da man :)
But I disagree that 2008 was the last great tour (btw some say that of 2005 and some even of 2001 :) ).
I think 2010 was better than 2008, although MK had his back problem and had to bet sitted, his playing was more energetic.
In 2011 he was in top form, and in 2013 he had some very very good TR end solo.
2015 was uneven, but some concerts were quite good, e.g. Sion.
And 2019 was very fresh, after a rusty start, some versions were the best ever (WAM, STP, MFN, PFP, even SAN and BIA to some extent), with amazing surprises (Silvertown, OUATITW), a nice new one (My Bacon Roll) and even a very touching farewell song (Machistick Man).
-
My favourite tour is 2010, but 2008 and 2013 are very good too. I listen to the 2019 concerts a lot these days and STP is the best I have heard, especially the Leeds version, also Matchstick Man and Bacon Roll, both of which are much better than the album versions. :)
-
Amazing this has popped up after so long!
2010 was indeed my favourite but 2019 I thought was the best tour in some time. The arrangements were awesome and I thought working around MK by having bursts of guitar playing rather than when he was still attempting the long solo's in 2015 was a really good move.
-
Nice to see and hear a pro audio of this tour!!
Is it also allowed to share over here? I don’t know how to rip videos from YouTube

it probably popped up exactly because of the elapsed 13 years

What do you mean? Any legal delay involved?

Someone who has the stuff is very likely willing to share it after a long time rather than after few days, for whatever the reason

Thank you for sharing it here, both the original and the edited versions. I've been looking for such a thing for so long! So glad to see my Danny, a fantastic drummer who gives a soul to the music that he plays. That WAS music, to my ears now long gone.
Can't believe that someone removed the sound from the outro of Speedway, but that's the best that we've had so far. I hope that one day we can have something "official" from that great tour.
Would it be possible to have the edited version shared on Unlimited before it gets removed from YouTube? Thank you.

Ah great thank you very much. Missed it somehow, but will check back later. Listening to it now and it sounds so good! That's something to save to our HD, should we never get something "better".

Thanks for sharing this video. I was looking for a 2008 concert for so long. Great! :clap
