Title: Sydney 1986 on Vinyl-Sets available in the next time
Post by: Klaus74 on April 15, 2021, 10:03:45 AM
Hi to all DS MK Vinyl-Nerds. :wave
I detected an interesting offer on the www, on ebay.
A big UK-Trader has an interesting pre-sale-offer on the Sydney 1986 Broadcast 2-LP-Set Volume-1. It will be very good news to have Sydney on Vinyl in the near future.
Record-Label is: Off The Shelf, Cat-Nr.: OTS-001, Release-Date is: 23.4.2021
I hope, that the record-producer used a very goodsounding source for that vinyls.
If somebody has some more information on that records, please let us all know. :thumbsup

So folks, today i have received the two 2-LP-Set with the Sydney-concert by Dire Straits. :) :)

My first impression on that records: Marvellous :thumbsup
The sound-quality is very good for the old radio-broadcast-source. Nice Fold-Out-Covers and black vinyls with picture-label.

But, there are two little "mistakes" that i´m thinking about: The coverdesigner better should use a band-pic from the BIA-line-up, which was current in that time, the triangular Live in 86 logo was also a very cool alternative in cover-design. The frontcover was layouted with an OES-period Mark on front, and a band-pic from the late Seventies with Pick and David. To use pics or logos from the 1980s period that fit to the BIA-period would make that package more authentic, but i can live with it.
The text on the innerpage of the fold-out-cover has a little printing error. But otherwise, it is cool to have Sydney on Vinyl in very good sound. That´s the most important thing. :lol
The source seems to be the Triple-M, MMM, FM-Radiostation Sydney-Broadcast from that time, a little bit remastered.
