Hello to all Live-enthusiasts.
I got a mail from another German fellow DS-MK-Fan, who has some new infos on a future Golden-Eggs-CD-Production. It will be a compilation Live-CD-Album in Digipak-Cover with DS and MK-Songs from various US-Gigs during MKs STP-Worldtour 2001. All songs are performed with various guest-musicians on MK-gigs. I´m trying to get some more infos in the next days. Sounds interesting.

I think this is a great compilation of something that is a rarity on MK concerts... guests. I think of that caliber, only happened on that US tour on 2001. He had Joe Brown on 2008 and Phil Cunningham on 2010 I think, also Bonnie Raitt on the last one in 2019, but big names like James Taylor, Jackson Browne, Bonnie Raitt, Sonny Landreth, Emmylou Harris, all of them in the same leg of the tour, that was something extraordinary. I'm happy that this cd has songs from that amazing shows!

Yes, they were supporting act at the RAH 1996 concerts, and they were guests one of the nights in "Water of love", I loved so much their voices that I dug into their catalogue and I fell in love with their record "Time, the revelator". Splendid!
They were also guests in Nashville 2001, the Speedway version with this is in this compilation.

She was supporting act in 2008 on the North American leg. Not sure if they actually shared the stage.

It's nothing anybody here couldn't make up themselves; all these shows are available, and in full on their respective bootlegs. Don't know why anyone would want to buy it.

Anybody could do that and burn it to disc or save to a folder on HDD in FLAC or whatever format you like. It's just a money spinner. I hate these pieces of garbage designed to fleece fans which offer absolutely nothing new to the fans but recycled clips from old shows that've been circulating for about two decades. Absolute garbage.

I wish anything really new surface, obviously, but these cds did not existed as silver press cd so for me, as collector, I'm more than happy.

According to my knowledge the "MK Live At The Royal Albert Hall 1996-2019" and "MK with the NHB Live at Ronny Scott´s Club" are genuine factory-pressed CDs, not cheap CD-R Versions. Both albums are very well produced with digipak-covers :think :think
That are also Golden Egg Records-releases.
So if you don´t like those Live-CDs or if you feel ripped off with those items, just don´t buy them.
From my view as a DS and MK collector, those well produced live CD-Albums are an adäquate addition to the regular stuff of MK and DS records. But that is my opinion, only.
So i´m a little bit confused with your negative posting on the subject of the "new" Golden Eggs-release with the MK concerts from STP US-Tour.??

Casual fans that doesn't know he can get them for free, can get these things, buy them and enjoy them a any other disc you buy from any artist that you can get for free in internet.
If those casual fans don't value collectible items and one day discover the wonderful thing that "Knopflertk Unlimited" is, they would download for free whatever they want and sell that cd bootleg on internet, as many people do, those silver press cds are not sold only by music shops sellers but by individuals that feel they don't need it as it can be download for free.
In the end, these are collectible items, most of them bought by collectors, in other cases by casual fans that value having them, and others that end selling them to collectors as second hand cds, or even to other casual fans..

Yes i agree, but i think the collectors are all different people with different aims,pleasures and necessities. :think
For some group of collectors it is good enough to have all the recorded DS and MK stuff stored and archived on HDD on the PC, or easily made as as a CD-R Disc.
Some other fans, like me, are more interested to have the original physically sound-carriers, like the vinyls, singles, maxi-singles, cds, cd-singles, dvds, videos and so on. So there are different necessities the fans have, in case of collecting the musical work of MK and DS.
I prefer those sound-carriers, which offers a long life-span, which a cheap CD-R cannot offer. In some time, those CD-Rs or DVD-Rs are loosing their audio and video-quality and they are not playable perfectly.
So i personally don´t buy those so called CD-R or ACETATE-CD-R Promos. That is money wasting for that type of sound-carrier. But that is also my personal opinion.
I have records in my collection which are more than 120 years old, and they are still good playable, on a wind-up gramophone. 8)
Yes, i also have lots of live-recordings by MK and DS on my HDD on my PC, indeed, but sometime i make a CD-R Set for my own with some preferred recordings, to listen to it with my High-End-Hifi-System. Those live-recordings are traded with some other fellow fans. That is a good method. With three very goodsounding concerts a German Vinyl-manufacturer made some direct-cut vinyl-record-sets as one of a kind editions for me, to play it on my hi-fi-systems. To store or to archive a lot of audio or video-data it will be adäquate to have it on HDD or PC, no question.
PS: On the other hand, i personally don´t feel ripped off, in case of buying an adäquate DS or MK bootleg-live-album as Vinyl or as genuine CD-Album. The offered price is the one side, and the soundquality of the recorded material is the other side. But i personally don´t buy so called "artificial" items, which are fake or rip-off-articles, like some doubtful Promo CDs, those Israeli-Promo-Picture-Discs or the Mexican-Radio-Station-promos, which are clear fake articles.
At the moment you have the chance to buy "Master-Tape-Reels" from Dire Straits and other artists, wich are offered by a Russian trader. Such items are also fake, very well made, no question, but not genuine master-tape-reels from the studios, the music-publishers or by the artists.

Hi, yes as i have expected that item. The label-design is in every case the same, like my other two mentioned Golden Eggs-releases. No doubt. It will be a fine production on real and genuine CDs, not on cheap CD-Rs.I´m sure. 8)

About "Golden Eggs" or "Casino Records" (which are the same label but one for cds and the other for vinyls) and his previous names, "Eat a peach" or "Godfather" I have to say that not only they produce well designed packages, but also they release things, except the Verona 2006, Werchter 81 and Cleveland 85, that didn't existed previously on cd or lp, not like the rest of labels that keep releasing versions of the same old San Francisco 79, Basel 92 etc
