Josh Turner has already covered sultans in past years. And it's still today one his most seen videos on YT
I like very much his music

Mary Spender had already sung Sultans in a Metal-style cover that had made some buzz.
Here they are plaing just as a duo. Simple. Sober
for guitar-freaks, note what Josh is doing at 00:46, a bend by pulling the string on the headstock. sounds great, almost like pedal steel

Oh yeah... Sultans again. Some other songs? Please? Maybe? Somebody?

totally agree with you Pavel. I am also tired to hear Sultans over and over... but thats' all we got in terms of covers on the net, except your amazing job of course :thumbsup

Heard it and did not even think of posting it here, it says volume.

Yes, I agree that it would be nice to hear some other songs covered. However I enjoyed this version, because it was different to other cover versions and I felt that they made it their own, not trying to do a note-for-note copy. :)

I agree too, Sultans have been covered to death, Mark has lots of songs that would make a more interesting cover, he is way more than that song.

Equally, Mary is quite a talent in her own right, She has a very unique voice which I thought suited the backstory to Sultans well.
She has her own you tube channel with a number of covers and some of her own material.

Try Money for Nothing Knebworth 1990 middle solo if you wanna try something really worthy and difficult
I loved the story that Phil told about his solo that night! So tasty. I'm not into solos that much though.
Over the years listening to Sultans, I developed the entire range of feelings towards this song: starting with awe and inspiration, remembering this riff and not knowing who played it, then being mesmerised by variety of it and the sound. Now I simply skip it everywhere and moan about every decent cover getting millions of views.
It's like Sultans is not even Mark's song anymore, it's another planet... It's "SULTANS OF SWING", damn it. Sultans of Swing gets into the movies, everybody knows it, covers get attention on the level of Ed Sheeran and John Mayer. But when it comes to almost every other MK song, compared to Sultans, it's dead silence. I almost somtimes think that MK is a one-hit wonder or something.
