Title: MK 11 album box set - pressing quality
Post by: Kenval on June 15, 2022, 07:36:20 AM
I have tried 2 box sets from Amazon and returned both due to continuous crackle, clicks and pops. Considering where or if to purchase another set, hopefully a lot better…any suggestions where to purchase?  Hopefully Universal will get these re pressed at a better pressing plant, not the Czech plant. Maybe releasing individual titles at some point.

I'd say mine was just "OK" - some records were fine, others had some noise.

All new vinyl seems to be a lottery :(

I also won the quality-lottery by GZ-Media. Big laughter ;D
OK, my purchased box is well made, thank god. But i also have heard many negative feedback in some other vinyl-collectors communities about the vinyl pressing-quality from GZ-Media. Crackling here and there, dust and other dirt on the record-surface, warped copies, hairlines on the record-surface, damaged cover-seams and so on.
Pallas in Germany or RTI in California make always very adäquate jobs in that case. I hope the GZ-Media is getting better and better in the near future. They have a lot to learn at least.

So, today i have purchased the 2-LP-MFN-Set. It has a wide-spine cover, the records are in archive-innersleeves and it containes a sheet with lyrics and album-covers. My records are clean and straight, no hairlines or other faults.
