My recollection of comments of fans who were there was that the whole thing wasn't done two or three times, but a couple of tracks had to be re-recorded.

The whole thing is in stark contrast to  the joy that I saw onstage at the show I saw on that tour, and the several excellent bootlegs we have.

Yes, good show but lacks energy.
For a much better version of MFN, look at Montserrat just the year after (1997), with Eric Clapton, Phil Collins and Sting - very rocking! Would be the best ever if not for the lack of intro...

It’s a nice recording but there’s one thing that one cannot forgive: they cut Done With Bonaparte. If you listen carefully, they shortened the instrumental parts.

And one question: what the heck does Mk say just before Father and Son? Wok-yeah? :think

That is the problem with TV production doing it in TV studio.

Better is to rent a real theater and to capture it as a real show.

I was there, I guess one of the middle aged people not dancing1 - wouldn’t have been much way of doing that. I can confirm that it was only two or three songs that were repeated for recording purposes. I think most there were fans, but it was a modest sized crowd, so would have been difficult to create huge noise. I very much enjoyed it - for most of us first opportunity to see MK post Straits - even if it lacked the atmosphere of the later live shows that year.
