So it looks like she got a little more effort from Mark than just another phoned-in guitar track.
I don't like her singing very much. Sounds like a worse version  of Edie Brickell to me (who I prefer).
Song itself is pretty nice.

Sounds like a favour for a friend.  Nothing against the artist or song but IMO Mark K. is completely wasted in most of these collaborations and I faintly recall a day when he would have said no thanks.

It maybe is tuning for open D (DADF#AD), but I think drop D (DADGBE). I can hear

I like her voice and Mark is doing a great job (dripping stratty tone ) . The song itself is a bit boring to my ears as well.

Well I looked into it, I'm 99% sure it's Dropped C tuning with a capo on 1st fret and same guitar Mark played "My Heart Has Never Changed" on.

So you're basically right, although the key is one half-step lower than Dropped D and you can achieve it either by capo or tuning it down.

To me this song sounds as if it was intended to be a home-made video on YouTube, rather than a professional recording all and all.
And it's not bad at all! Marbletown, kind of. I wonder if Mark recorded all the parts at his house, interesting to hear some insights.

Do you guys think that Mark changed something in his recording setup for Tracker? This to me sounds very much like his strat tone on Tracker, which is a bit thicker and "wetter" than on his other albums.
