Has Richard Bennet special contract with MK?

Richard will to go to tour with Neil Diamend and on blog he wrote that: "The very first contact I made was Mark K. and got his blessing as it looks like a quiet year for touring."

Maybe he has like long time contract and must to make MK number one prioritet?

I have no idea about how music business works but I would assume that it is some kind of loyalty to ask the man who made it possible for you to tour the world 10 (!) times. Mark is an on going story, Diamond a single Jubilee thing. And I think MK tours are more lucrative for him. I guess no long term contract needed.

Of course when your main source of income comes from a single artist, contractually or not, you tend to ask him before engaging yourself playing for somebody else.

Yes that's right of course. But 1996-2015 is a long time spent with Mark. And IF Mark calls for a tour, it is usually for four or five months. Diamond sure enough does not tour so long I would imagine.

Pretty sure Richard's contract is not a long term one. Why not to make a part-time contract just prior tour starts and get away with it?

For MK Richard is no.1 side guitarman. "Give to me loyalty and priortiet and I will to pay good money." Maybe?

It's easy to understand, MK is not only Richard's boss but one of his best friends, so Richard wants to be available in case MK needs him. Before accepting a very long touring contract with other artist, we wants to be sure that his friend and boss is not going to need him.

Richard left Neil Diamond years ago to pursue a career as a session musician, so going back with him wouldn't had been a priority if MK would had toured this year, but as it's not the case, touring with Diamond AND HIS SON is a nice chance.

Oh thanks a lot! I was not checking myself, it was just pure guessing, just because it was not that important to me. That looks like a tough schedule. Good for both
of them, Neil and Richard then. Maybe Richard is getting some new inspiration or impuse when touring with another artist again after more than 10 years!
