And MK still has more festivals to attend,

July 15, Switzerland, Montreux, Montreux Jazz Festival

July 16, Switzerland, Locarno, Moon & Stars Festival

July 25, Spain, Cordoba, Cordoba Guitar Festival

July 31, Spain, Gredos (Avilia), Music Festival

Hope we can get at least one of pro-shot DVD at last.

Allen
And also: July 21, France, Lyon, Nuits de Fourvi
And we have just one world
But we live in different ones

This was just fantastic!!! Best MK concert ever? Beats the Golden Heart tour? An awesome and almost surreal experience! More than perfect. Never heard such a good sound before. I didn' know it was possible. Fabulous! Incredible!

Wow! These words from you, Mr. Mossguitar, are much more heavier than from almost everybody else I might dare to say!  :lol
Nice to read that you all had a great time!

Found this on Dime, so it seems Norwegian Wood DVDs do get out there one way or another. :)

Question by emiliano vallejo Argentina 14/Jun/2010
Hi guy , I read that yesterdays oslo festival was filmed, anyway I imagine that mark must give the "ok" so the concert to be transmitted or do something with, if not there are a few festivals more and maybe its going to be filmed to. does the possibility of one broadcast of one of the festivals shows? Sorry for my English, I had a lot of problems in translating this particular question, I hope you understand it..

Reply from Guy Fletcher
I'm not aware of that, I think they were filming all the bands but just for the big screens

# I was in MK-Dubai show on 03/March/2005, They were filming the show just for the big screens as well...

I don't know about Norway, but many of the festivals in the UK, Glastonbury, Isle of Wight, T in the Park etc are broadcast on tv, often in HD too! So maybe some of our Norwegian freinds can start hassling the local TV company to see if MK will be broadcast. :)

My Heart Says.... "Mark Knopfler - Live in Montreux" will be released on DVD...

I would not put too many hope for this as Mark is under exclusive recording contract with Mercury.
The simfy recording are not sorted out cause of worlwide right yet, so releasing a DVD by an independant company would be very very surprising.

I bet that a DVD release of "Mark Knopfler - Live in Montreux" will be part of the "archive release" in 10 or 20 years.

But we can hope for a TV broadcast of the show if no contractual clause does not veto it.

I guess MK seems not to use finger of death during open air concerts, coz the red light doesn't disturb the band much.  Am I right?
Actually, this reminds me of something I forgot to mention in my Paris review, but which I find strange.
We got a french guy (not PC) making the announcement prior to the show. It was very mild. He vaguely mentionned to be mindful of others when using flash. Period. Not a word about filming being forbidden.
I saw some permanent red lights on the left side of the venue, and was really affraid that the finger of death would pop up. But nothing. After the "running of bulls" ((c) Isaac), plenty of people were filming. No reaction from Mark.
We haven't seen the finger of death in a while.
Does it mean it does not care anymore ??

Yep, great shot!

By the way, today's diary entry reveals that Guy will appear on the Norwegian "God Morgen" show, 9:20am local time. Did anyone manage to record that one?
And she's sitting in her Lusso, in the early morning sun.

WOW

They just had a review from last nights concert in Oslo on the radiochannel called "Radio Norge"... They played a couple of really bad recordings (probably recorded with a telephone or something) of Ole Ole Ole and Sultans Of Swing... I will try to get a copy of it... :)

Perhaps he doesn't like to use the "finger of death" in non-english speaking countries just in case those guilty parties never understood the message pre-concert?
