A new BBC TV documentary, Mark Knopfler - A Life In Songs, will be broadcast early in the new year. It is currently scheduled for 9 pm (GMT) on the 28th of January. (10/12/10)

Just saw the advert on BBC 4 tonight with a clip showing MK talking and playing MFN. Can't wait for this now.

Over Christmas I watched the "Legends" documentary on Herb Alpert.

It was an excellent piece of television. Very well made and the great thing about the BBC is that there are no commercials, meaning that an hour documentary is actually an hour. You can get a lot of material into that length of time so this should be quite in depth.

Looks like they are set to show lots of MK next Friday night. They are airing the documentary twice in three hours and following it with the 1996 Jools Holland Later Special programme. They will then be repeating A Life In Songs three more times over the course of the weekend. (Updated: 20/01/11)

I have set the topbox to record already on the 28th at 2100 for 'A life in songs' and also the folowing Jools Holland session which 'WILL' include SOS!!
