Isaac's tour blog - Book
« on: January 27, 2011, 05:57:23 PM »
Dear all,

I have been one of the lucky ones to have got the opportunity to have ordered Isaac's tour blog (Get Lucky tour) in 'limited edition' book form largely being one of a few who emailed him asking if he was ever going to publish his wonderful blog?

Well my copy is in the postal system as we speak and I'm sure he wouldn't mind me putting the link to his books which are available to buy as follows:

* Mark Knopfler - NOT just a hobby, but a way of life!

* Owner of Two Fender 'Mark Knopfler' Signature Series Stratocaster's (SE00616 & SE03805) both with signed Fender labels after meeting MK at Bridport, Dorset UK on the 27/09/2013!

Thanks, very interesting! He finally did it! Great view to have that book... But it is priced accordingly... if you take the Deluxe Box as a basis..  ;D

Seriously, it seems to be a not too big edition, so the price is logical. And it is nice to choose from two different editions, B/W or coloured...

Well done, Isaac!

I hope everything is ok with copyright matters and stuff...

I think its a very good price bearing in mind it is some 417 pages and weighs 1.5 kg!!! After all it is a unique piece of MK related memorabilia from someone who scaled the feat of attending every date of the 'Get Lucky' tour.

It's a nice memory for Isaac but I cannot fathom why anyone would want to shell out their hard earned money to have a copy of his memories. But that's just me....

Keep Knopflerin'   ;)

Part of the answer is that it is a great travelogue.   He talks about more than the concerts:  the trips, the cities, the restaurants.   And there are a lot of pictures of the same.

Yes, no doubt that I am interested in getting one copy! I still think he really did a great job and don't forget the concert reviews he did in a very objektive and almost everytime very fitting manner! I read them together with the Concert thread in this forum and so had the feeling I could anticipate more from
this tour than ever. Of course there is a lot of moaning about this and that,  but that IS travelling and is more than compensated by a lot of great pics and good impressions written in a very good style.

Will think of buying one....

I like Isaac but I found the book idea a bit strange as well, especially when he starts signing them and stuff.

But some people obviously like it, so good luck to them. :)

Isaac is donating money from the sale of this book to charity. So if you have a loose change-it's a good investment.

No one has moaned about it. Some people have just said it is a bit of a strange thing to do, which it is - blogs don't routinely get published in book format.

I expect we'll see more blogs collected into books.    I know of another by an author who calls himself "Dromedary Hump."
