Lets play along!
« on: August 26, 2011, 12:55:45 PM »
Hi again boys and girls! One of my hobbies is to pick out music by ear.
I'm also love sound design job, and today i combined my hobbies.
I've made simple backingtrack for my favorite MK song:

I started this topic, because I want to do some similar backings of rare-transcribed Mark's songs, and I want to ask Amit-users: which songs you would like to hear in my backingtrack version? And which song of MK do you think is most enjoyable to jam with? I know, there is a lot of musicians, but most important thing

That sounded really great! If you have any more of these, please make them available for download.

My amp broke down some time ago, but I play without it every now and then  ;D

"...amp's broken down, amp's broken down, on the slipway, on a slip road, got a slip load,
and it's a hard shoulder to cry on..."

Sorry, it just came over me...  ;D

This is wonderful !!!! Thank you veryyy much.  If I could have my ways, I'd like all of MK songs in backtracks.  But I guess I shouldn't be too unreasonably demanding, so, to start off, can I have

1.  TOL ?
2.  We can get wild ?
3.  silvertown blues ?
4.  golden heart ?

Actually whatever you have, I'll be very grateful.

Is there a chance for notes for the piano?

Thanks,

foma

Well, as far as I know backing for TOL exist at one of "Play Along with DS" CD, my goal is to cover really rare songs. Silvertown Blues is good choise as I think. Pick out any of Mark's song is great challenge, so be patient ;D

Notes for the piano in "A Place"? I can do it soon.

LE, Hard Shoulder is also great choice :D I just love outro part with nearly invisible Mark's solo.

Yes, indeed, I "discovered" this song very late, together with Monteleone, after a long period where I didn't them, but now they absolute favorites of mine! That is so great about MK records... I know I will return sooner or later to one or another track... As long as I don't hate them they always will have a chance with me!  ;)

Great work, foma! I would love to have more of these...  :) A Place Where We Used to Live is one of my all time favourites. The lyrics is just wonderful. This is what Mark himself says about the song:

It's the end of a perfect day..,.

Foma,

You're right about TOL.  I do have that CD "play along with DS".  Just dug it up tonight.  I'll be  patiently waiting for anything new you put up.

LE, Hard shoulder is one of my favorites too. I love just about every song in GL, except may be for "the car was the one" .

Hi again boys and girls.

Well, it was bad idea to do a backingtracks. Too many work with too insignificant reaction (2 "thumbs down" just killed me).
So I decided to continue my youtube so-called "lessons". It doesn't takes much time, but effect is much more responsible.

So lets start with the famous "On Every Street" riff. I found out there is no one on youtube playing it right, so I take a really deep look into it:

I will love to hear any criticism. And maybe you can do requests, because I really don't know what riff or lick to do next.

Thank you, LE! Well, I can do that of course, but it's the two guitars playing simultaneously. So it has to be recorded in the same way. More suggestions? (=
