Now thanks to tunnel85 another review of Glasgow night 1:-

Just got back at my hotel. What a nightmare to get out this venue and reach the city : no taxi, no bus, nothing.
My dear friend dmg gave the first news but i would amend the setlist :
WII
CMG
Corned beef city (starts like gravy train)
STP
HFB
Privateers
Sonny Liston
a night in summer long ago
Marbletown
BIA
SAN
Total 75 min

Very nice show but the sound was terrible sometimes , MK  is not seated anymore ,  Great HFB, fabulous Marbletown, and a lot of Les Paul.  The two new songs are interesting, I thing they still need improvement but nice potential.
MK was great, better than GL tour.

Stupid security guys and BD fans showing no respect during our part. You have to know that : they arrive late, they go in and out ten times and they are noisy. Management focus on recodings but the real disturbance is different.
No problem , we'll do it differently and we'll have some fun tomorrow.

Bob's part was disapointing except for Hihway 61 and a wonderful AATW.
Not easy to play after MK. Huge difference.

Pottel, you can't be serious : we are banned for one month  ??

Sonny Landreth - played with his new LP which he kissed at the end!

Sonny Landreth on?!

Nice  ;D

(But I'm guessing you're meaning Sonny Liston)

Grrrrr! Where are our "reporters"??   ???
How dare they have fun on a Sat. night after the concert!  Don't they know we're waiting for some information, i.e. setlist, what shirt did he wear, what was the audience like, etc., etc.

LOL Joanzim, I see you are as curious as I am, although I can't be here so late in the evening and have to wait till next day!  :lol

What a setlist, and especial A Night In Summer Long Time Ago! ........Ooohh my prince on a black horse asking me why I love him! Haha, doesn't he still know because of his music?? ROFL

Thought Mark was fantastic.

His playing was superb, his whole band gave a very tight performance. Didnt recognise one or two tracks but likes his new tunes. I was glad he did Brothers in Arms too, I thought it was a stunning performance and a display of how the guitar should be played.

Im sorry to see Knopfler and Dylan fans going at each other. I love them both so it was win win for me, but shame that the two of them have so much respect for each other yet their fans seemingly don't.

Im embarrassed to admit as a guitarist myself, but if Knopfler hadnt said he was playing BIA in a different key i doubt i would have noticed!

All in all a brilliant show. Had a great time and was great to see Mark live.
