Yes, the same happens to me. What I do to solve it is just push on the "read the full article" link on then go to the full site and then click the "new replies to your posts" and "unread posts since last visit"

Thats the reason I thought that a small app with that features will do the work, maybe mixed with the rss feed, I dont know, as I mentioned, I dont have a clue about programming apps for apple or android devices...

Just found that exists a free programme called "iBuildApp" that creates apps for Iphone, Ipad and Android...
