I think we should feel very happy that there are SEVEN songs from the new album!   Imagine if you were a BD fan - he only played ONE from his album!   ::)   No wonder they are not mentioning MK's setlist this morning!   ;)

I'm not insulting Bob's fans, but most of them would only recognise SFA, it being the sole DS number.

That's their problem I'm afraid, if they only know the hits!   They are such a blinkered bunch over there that they only listen to Bob's songs!

Regardless of the Matt+Dany vs. Jim + Ian debate (I'm not too sure what my opinion is on this one), Speedway is dropped, and that makes me affraid that it would be dropped next year too...
I don't want Speeway to go, and I don't want TR to get either. They are live classics ! I'm sure Mark is on fire now and have the means to reecreate the magic of the 2005 TR !!

He can bring back Matt for all I care, so long as he plays like that again!  Come on Mark, get those glasses out! :lol

I do feel, though, that Jim's style of piano playing is much more suited to the majority of the songs on Privateering than Matt's more poetic style, so I think we will have many more  songs from the new album than we usually hear.   I'm looking forward to hearing them in 2013!   :)

Also, I am a bit concerned that the "Get Luck" album seems forgotten; it is good to put the emphasis on the new album (remember how KTGC was treated ? as if Mark was ashamed of it !), but Get Lucky had 2 gems, "Border Reiver" which was the best opener in years, and "Piper to the End" which to my mind was the more touching Mark has written since "Brothers in Arms". Even "Dream of a drowed submariner" on the new album comes close, but is not as good as Piper, IMHO. These 2 should be brought back !

Maybe they will come back for the full show in 2013.   I hope so, because I can't really see a better starting song on Privateering than BR!   Maybe CBC?   :-\

I also think this will happen. They'll come together with a little DS touch as well.

Thanks for the picture.
So MK joins Bob on stage since the first show.  ;D ;D ;D
The best news so far !

So that's Mark there in that blurry pic! Great! I still gives me goosebumps just to think that those should share a stage. Wonderful.

And hey, okay, he could have gone for a different opener than What It Is, and I could live without So Far Away, but otherwise the setlist is just great! Seven new songs! That's exactly how it should be. Bob should think about it, too (although I see that it's kind of hard to find seven new AND great songs on Tempest).

Don't mind bout the people on ER. Their obsessiveness can be of use at times. And they are well organized. And except for the few idiots there, there are actually quitea few mk fans.
any Knopfler, Floyd or Dylan will do....

Why don't they mention that there was someone else in this concert - MK and that he shared the stage with BD for at least one song?   If you read ER it seems there was only one person performing!    :o

Woohoo!! I used to could and redbud tree - absolutely awesome!!
Hope we get them next year. And of course extended Strat solo on Redbud would be excellent. Anyone recording these concerts?

I'm soooooo excited, I can hardly think straight.  7 new songs from the new album????? That's soooo awesome !  That's not quite Mark, don't you think? But, I'm sooo happyyyy.  All the songs I love to hear live maybe except SFA which could be replaced by SOS. Anyway, I really don't care about what BD fans have to say.  What song did Mark play with BD?

Now, I really can't wait for my  3 shows in less than 2 weeks.    :)

Nobody can confirm if MK played with his Bobness, and in which songs?
You might get lucky, now and then
