But...why on hell does he play it this way live and records a a version that is a lot more tame.

Sorry, I don't get it. The same happened with HFB, which is an absolute killer played live.

So what to say about "Marbletown" ! from 3:34 and solo/acoustic in the studio to 10:30 minutes live with 7 guys ! this is Mark Knopfler
