Ideal setlist
« on: October 14, 2012, 04:20:48 PM »
A week into the tour it is clear that Mark will  play  little or no Dire Straits.  What would be your 11 songs that you would choose ? I am going to the Berkeley show Friday front  thanks to the Presale.

An ideal and somewhat possible setlist for this actual tour (not necessarialy for me) would be something like this;

1. What it is
2. Corned Beef City
3. Privateering
4. Hillfarmers Blues
5. Romeo & Juliet
6. I Used To Could
7. Boom, Like That
8. Marbletown
9. Brothers in Arms
10. Yon Two Crows
11. Speedway At Nazareth

1 Border Reiver
2 Cleaning my gun
3 Yon two crows
4 Silvertown blues
5 Coyote
6 Hill farmer's blues
7 Redbud tree
8 Camerado
9 Madame Geneva's
10 Marbletown
11 Money for nothing

No need to dream of It never rains or Tunnel of love with exented intro, there's enough in his recent work.

seems like Why Aye man is a definite no no on this tour:
No, it's not with me in the US since we are not playing WAM  (reply on GF forum)
any Knopfler, Floyd or Dylan will do....

Well..with the catalogue MK can provide us with this is perhaps the hardest question to be asked..and my answers would probably change on a daily basis.. will try to keep the "ideal" setlist a bit realistic as well as I could list songs we all know for sure we will never hear again live..guess which one in particular  :P So todays setlist goes:

1. Darling Pretty
2. What it is
3. Yon two crows
4. Romeo & Juliet
5. How long
6. Sultans of swing
7. Dream of the drowned submariner
8. Devil baby
9. A night in summer long ago
10. Telegraph road
Encore:
11. Money for nothing
