Do you think this is funny, doing such things when playing?

I don't really care how he behaves on stage. If he keeps playing like this: happy holaknopfler

Yes but it looks like a childish behavior when you're a high profile musician, it looks like he's so bored with MK songs that he has to do that things to be entertained...

Normally, he does all that things looking at McGoldrick, I recall both looking at each other and laughing.

And yes, he's playing is terrific.

Yes, in several videos Mike is looking at Ianto and laughing.  Now we know why  :lol

I observed Ianto and Mike goofing around a lot during the 3 shows I attended in Italy. Seemed more like fun and games than boredom though, as their music remained spot on. Ianto's addition is the clear highlight of this tour in my opinion. He is soooo much better than DC, without even appearing to try very hard. Better even than Chad Cromwell.

Lol.  I can assure you it's all just a bit of fun. Nice to see them being so comfortable out there. If it was through boredom I honestly don't think they'd risk any wrath from Mark. Lol

It isn't boredom I can tell you. Although he has fun he has to concentrate very much! They all have to:-)

IMO, Ian and Mike are enjoying the moment, and I don't see any disrespect towards Mark.  They (as well as other band members) also engage the audience at times.  It can be quite fun!  ;D

Agree with you Lis! In Zwolle Ian stood up after his introduction and waved and the place went mad;-D Great moment. He really adds something to the atmosphere.

I like Ianto very much.
He is playing absolutely great.
And he is a funny chap too. That's what we need and what I like.

MK had a few drummers.
Pick was good, really
Terry was average, not more
Omar Hakim on BIA-very good
Jeff Porcaro and Manu Katche on OES- there are/were no better drummers on earth
Chris Whitten on tour: I liked his drumming-very powerful, especially on Sultans
Chad Cromwell- also a great drummer-I was sad as he leaved after the Australian SL Gigs
Danny- average drummer but great chap
Ianto- Also a Top Man on the drums-glad he joined the band
Love will find a Way

Hi guys - post about MK's drummer. Had to add an answer.

Nothing really funny in those videos if I can give an opinion. Read somewhere that he - Ian - acts like a 15 YO teenager and have to agree with that. I don't think this was deliberately disrespectful to Mark's music
