Um, no I think it's just a joke.

Saying he's off to buy just one string is funnier than saying that he was off to buy a whole set of strings, especially since somebody paid 100k for the privilege.

Wasn't aware that he was recycling an old joke though, but that is typical MK.

It is great that somebody was able to pay such a big amount, after all the more money the better it is for the Children in Need!......... I wish that person a wonderful time with Mark together!
