Old Chords Updated and Music Discussion
« on: October 15, 2013, 10:51:44 AM »
Inspired by recent songs discussion here on AMIT, I decided to check out my old tabs and BAM! There is a tons of mistakes in it! So I will update it one by one with more details and proper fingerings and start with the open track from 'Shangri-La'. My ears surely developed a bit since 2008.

And I would like to point out some genius ideas in this particular song. One of my favorites is using of GMaj7 going to G6 in the 'oh the bandit man' section. It almost inaudible in album version, but if you take separate tracks from 5.1 audio

YTC, it's a simple little trick to gain tense in song. Try to play G/A like [x05433] or [5x5433] or [x00033] or [x00003] or even [x0000x].

Thanks, beeing curious. Eager to have the guitar in hand.
I'll try first  [x05433] or [5x5433] or [x00033], because in general i like the sound of the chord with d more, Don't know why. (Depends of course on the song).
Why did you put first A in parentheses? Not sure?

After 'Laying all around'? Because it changes really fast and almost inaudible, so you can skip it.

Haha, by the way, in the Euro-2013 this song was played in E with capo on 2 fret. And instrumental bridge was repeated twice and accompanied by... sitar!

Thank you, foma. Just listening to the studio version, I always loved the "quiet" build-up and tension.
And she's sitting in her Lusso, in the early morning sun.
