A friend of mine, outside the Valencia bullring was joking because we might be the younger of the people queuing for the MK concert, and that when MK retire, we should start following a young artist, so we would turn into the oldest fans of him...

He suggested Bonamasa 🤣

Good move! Alas Bonamassa appeals to the young and the old and that was evident when I had my picture reproduced at the Ryman show and later on BluRay!!

So I'm back on the forum after a short break having gained a management position at work. I've  also attended an amazing, mind-blowing JB concert at nearby Bournemouth International Centre on the 9th May 2023.
JB was outstanding to say the least and I was impressed with his playing, the amazing backing band, sound and set list - which he does change slightly each night coincidentally!

Set list for Bournemouth:
Evil Mama, Dust Bowl, love ain't a love song, self inflicted wounds, the heart that never waits, I want to shout about it, Double trouble, Django/I didn't think she would do it, a conversation with Alice, happier times, lonely boy, just got paid. Encore: Mountain time

JB was playing just Five UK dates starting at Bournemouth and finishing at Birmingham with dates at Blackpool, Leeds & Newcastle...

Thanks to the BIC manager for the huge poster!!

Glad you had fun with JB and the gang.
I did not manage to see him this time round as he left out North-Rhine-Westphalia.
I did not want to drive more than 3 hours to Luxemburg or Mannheim.
The setlist I found also a bit boring and repetitive.
Not so much new stuff since last year.
Despite Josh Smith as a second guitarist is a class on his own.
Lemar Carter on Drums: wonderful
Next time JB

Fantastic, congratulations!

I don't really like his music but he seems like a really cool guy.

we just spoke few words, it was very brief

I'm not a big fan of his music neither (too much notes for my taste  ;D), I was there for my job  :)

Very cool guy indeed. Love his interviews, always interesting. I'm also not a fan of his solo work, but man, does he shine when playing with good singers... I remember hearing the outro of "I'll Take Care Of You" on the radio and thinking "what the f", "I need to know who this player is asap". Blues chops are absolutely phenomenal.

Yeah, I generally find the blues boring and repetitive.

But I love the fact that he appears to maintain his career as a musician solely to fund his pursuit of the coolest vintage guitars on the planet, bravo sir.

I am not a big fan of him either.

But I like the Beth Hart's Live in Amsterdam album very much and I appreciate his playing on that one.

Here he talks about a red Fender Strat. He calls it the "KnopflerCaster." As I can understand it correctly
