It's an acetate from 1979... Very rare, I was expecting a high price, maybe not that high, but...

These acetates are a beautiful item to collect.

Does they sound any different from the studio recording though?

Most of them are the same version, used to check levels of sound before release it or as radio previews. Some of them are really rare as include early versions pressed to listen to them at home or the hotel during recording process. Sometimes they even are unreleased songs. Obviously these last are VERY expensive and rare.
You might get lucky, now and then

Amy Bulloch is a young teenager who comes from the north-east of England. Not long ago she was diagnosed with a rare form of bone cancer resulting in her undergoing specialist treatment in the USA followed by weeks of chemo therapy. Amy comes from an ordinary family and is receiving super support from them and others. As part of on-going fund-raising efforts a number of MK items are being offered on Ebay. So take a look and you just might see a cool Xmas pressie for you or someone you love.

Just decided to search Knopfler on eBay and laughed so hard at these, the results of people shouting "MAK" before every performance is here:

Teach me your ways!

This stuff makes me so angry. Some people like that even post YouTube clips to verify the autograph. I've seen some videos where they bring a stack of CDs or LPs for the artist to sign. Like no shame at all. In that video with Mark, you could just see that a lot of them were not real fans. Ugh.

With all seriousness, 2K dollars for a sheet of paper with a signature is a bit over the top...

I have always been struck by the fascination of many fans for vinyl concerts, their limited editions, the fact that they have unofficial material in their collections (regardless of their quality) and their high prices. I am one of them, with my limitations, but I am.

In this case for the DS concert at wembley in 1991. It's the first time I have seen it at auction since I was able to get my "freshly-baked copy" at a record fair in October 1991 in Barcelona. 5 days to close the auction and the price already seems amazing to me. Out of curiosity, how many people at AMIT have a copy of this bootleg?

The best website on the internet about DS bootlegs on vinyl. I think they are all ...

Wow, incredible!  I have the Calling Wembley bootleg which is the same one with a different cover.  I've actually a number of vinyl bootlegs from the old record fayre days doing nothing.  If I knew I'd get that for them they'd be on eBay!

The same happens to me. Maybe I'll put up for sale some of the more limited ones I have ...
