"Mr Turner" and British Grove
« on: November 03, 2014, 10:29:49 AM »
Yesterday morning, I went to see "Mr Turner", the film about the painter JMW Turner, the title role being played (splendidly, I should add) by Timothy Spall.  The film was showing in the small but plush Curzon Cinema in Mayfair, which, you may care to note, offers reduced prices for its Sunday morning screenings. The cinematography was superb and the projection in the Curzon was pin-sharp.

Anyway, the point of this post is to note that the music for the film was recorded at British Grove.

I believe it's showing at The Filmhouse, Edinburgh too.  A lovely independent cinema, actually set in a former church!

Tim Spall won at Cannes and of course has another connection with us here in that he starred in "Auf Wiedersehen, Pet" which featured WAM.
