Stunning! Opening few bars remind me of the classic 'Last of the summer wine' comedy tune....

Maybe it is obvious, but can someone tell me what a "Silver Eagle" actually is? And his Silver Eagle passing... What is passing?

Thank you :wave

I think "Silver Eagle" is Bob Dylan's tour bus.   :)

Thanks for pointing me in the right direction :) I love this song. Together with My Heart Has Never Changed I think it is my favorite at the moment. Quiet, but powerful songs.

I must be the only one who thinks it's an absolute boring song...
Good lyrics, OK
But the melody and the rhythm is plain.
Fortunately Beryl comes just after !
They got a name for people like you, yeh they do
And they got a name for people like me too

I'm not overly excited by it either, but it's more of a nice song I think.  Not a song one would ever jump up and rave about.  Very much a "sleeper."

I recommend listening this song to it's end. Kind of Sailing To Philadelphia, no?

It may not be a song you would get excited about - but it is a song that I would get excited about! Depends on your taste.....I prefer this to Beryl for example....

Well, lyrically it's a million times better!  I think a better vocal would add another dynamic to this good song but this is too "Perry Como fireside" for me.

The lyrics and musicarrangments on this song are very moving. I don't know what it exactly is that brings tears in my eyes but for me one of my favorites from this album.
