Broken Bones is a HORRIBLE opener for a concert.

Bring back WII, yes, but not any WII. Bring the Edison awards 2003 version back !
2001 versions were spoiled with too much synth piano.
2005 versions were great but lack of violin made it a bit dry.
2008+ versions are too slow (even though a bit less for 2013) and are completely ruined by flute, completely over the guitar and out of place.

I love 2003 or 2002 charity concerts version best. Was perfect then. Otherwise I prefer the studio version, really excellent.

I made a similar plea in a posting a few days ago. It's a terrific songs, one of the best from the solo era. My only concern is that we spend a lot of time here whinging about lack of set list variety - can we also ask for the return of an ever-present?

Wow such a great post this with lots of arguments why you think it's a dull opener, please post more of this stuff, it wil greatly benefit this forum. Not. Did you already see a gig? Then tell me why it's "HORRIBLE". You didn't see a show? Then go see one or don't post such things again. I'm getting tired of all this moaning here, so negative.

Really have you been to one show this tour?! Maybe on paper Broken Bones isn't that great but live it is great. There's a good mood on stage, audience clapping and MK playing a rocking song from the start with the iconic red Stratocaster. Seriously just come up with arguments instead of saying that it's FLAT. What It Is wasn't as good as it was before and the flute was out of place. If MK got tired of it I'm fine with that. What do you want to see: a man that enjoys playing on stage or a machine playing what the audience wants to hear while feeling bad? Really looking forward to a response WITH arguments.

BB is a very strange choice, very controversial, but I have to admit than Mark got away with it, the mood is good when it comes...

Agree it's not the first song that comes to mind when choosing an opener but it sounds great, it works very well and it brings the audience in a good mood! What else do you need? It just sounds good

People are just glad he's finally on stage.  I don't think it's a good opener at all, although better than one would think.

I would rather not to have BB nor WII.

I wish he could write a new song up to the standard of an opener.

What about BR?  I always liked that as an opener.

With DTTW this has been the best one to open a concert. But it was the 2010 opener now it's 2015.

I really hope you mean you want one of his future songs to turn out to be a good opener and not that you want him to sit down and write a song especially to open up shows. Cause that's not how song writing works you know.

I take on the first part of your answer. This is the only way not to regret when a MK classic is dropped : the new ones should be even better! It worked during the DS days, it worked during the early solo years so why not now?

Because the back catalogue is too big and there are too many good songs. It's really hard to come up with material of the same level.
