The opportunity has passed but seeing Rod Stewart, John Fogarty, Neil Young and Burning Spear do their thing at Glastonbury on the TV at the weekend did again remind me that DS would have gone down well at this festival, certainly in current years where the acts are even more varied, straying into pop.

Never quite understood the MK logic here.

He didn’t need the money and the stress levels. Also his guitar skills were already deteriorating since the ’96 tour.

Yeah, I don't think Mark has plans to play live again even in solo.
Over 35 years since DS played live, and a lot of water has passed under the bridge.
It ain't ever going to happen - just accept it.

I never believed in Glastonbury but there was a chance for Live 8 in 2005. I remember Mark said in one of the interviews that they didn't play at that concert for unexplained reasons.

They were on their US leg of the 2005 Tour. July 1st was Boston. So probably schedule reasons.

Yes, that's true, but big concerts like Live Aid or Live 8 were planned long in advance.

I have zero expectations that DS would ever reform and play Glastonbury, or ever again for that matter.
I just think if history took a different path, it would have been a nice thing.  That is underlined when you see artists of his era and age putting on a good show in the current day at Glastonbury.

They could mime to backing tracks, though. Or do an avatar version, like ABBA.

 :hmm

Indeed, he is never going to play live again. I bet with the Local Hero project he could have done it on a tv show or something like that. But he let Guy do some interviews. I also think we will not see him that often in public anymore. Perhaps a interview at BG at the best..

On second thought, no.

Mark's guitar skills have deteriorated so much that he would have had trouble miming the guitar parts.

Plus he would look really silly wearing a headband now. If he could have found one that fits, that is.
