I would miss it very much.   We are fortunate to have a member of the band to communicate with, even if we don't always get the answer we want, or even an answer at all!

I believe that Guy shares with us what is allowed. We are still very lucky.

I understand people who think Guy's website is still relevant, I really do. But for me, and maybe it's his fault for having spoilt me, it feels like the end of the party. The band is gone, someone sweeps the floor, a drunken couple making out in the corner, but you still have a beer and don't wanna go home. It used to be awesome and now is just better than nothing. At least that's how I feel.

No,  I don't think they do.
But still, it is a GUY FLETCHER website / forum.

When it comes to sound engineering / music questions, he answers very nicely and offers his help. So I guess it will still be a very interesting place for musicians and sound freaks, just not for Mark Knopfler fans.

He doesn't need to do this obviously, he doesn't make a living out of this, so everything he gives us is a bonus, something we would never have anyway because MK would never run a forum or a diary anyway.

Just be thankful he's doing it as long he still bothers doing it.
Just my opinion.

Exactly :) He can not announce official things like a tour or a new album, and he can not announce song titles without MKs permission. So what can we expect? Nobody *needs* to follow him, you know you will get the official news anyway, but I do it, because I like the man  :)

Exactly. MKNews announces release date, tracklist, album cover, etc. It seems we are expecting too much from Guy Fletcher. Patience : )

I know that feeling  ;D, you become comfortably numb, the child is grown, the dream is gone ...and then, suddenly, all is getting better

Who cares when the new album of MK comes out when you have something real and special in your hands. A good beer is all you need.
Ah, never mind that. You have to be the one half of the couple at the corner, instead of roaming around with a beer in your hands looking for answers at a simile.
Try a metaphor.   ;)
Come on, it is not funny anymore.

It's the next best thing to a good old fashioned mailing list.  ;)

Facebook groups has got nothing on this!
