I would consider going but I would need to know whats happening ie how long is the promo gig going to be etc, it says on the webpage that theres another private gig for the "loadsamoney" people before the main event??
I checked with Ryanair & I can fly from my local airport to Stanstead or Luton for a few euro. An hours bus trip from there & I'm in the middle of London & its cost me very  little so I wouldnt mind paying the

I already changed my mind. It's loads of money, but IF the tickets for the gig including private gig will be available through markknopfler.com and I can get one I will go. So now busy working, doing some overtime, earning some more money hopefully  :D
And IF I  can get a ticket ................
I have to think about how I tell one of my best friends who will have a big big party that day that I will not be there. But that's second, first want to have a ticket!!  ;)

I have mixed feelings about the pricing, etc of this gig.  On the one hand I would dearly love to be there for the exclusive part, but on the other hand I find it quite elitist, especially as we are led to believe that MK is a socialist and therefore, in favour of equality.  He has rather disappointed me in this and I would have thought it better to have a level playing-field of tickets for everyone on a first come first served basis at a price somewhere around

I personally wouldn't raise it with Guy, MK can't really win, he's just trying to do his bit for charity by charging a bit extra for the privilege of getting to the M&G.

I mean, it's a shame we couldn't all afford

No, I agree, best not to raise it with Guy.  I hope a lot of money is made for the charity and that all the REAL fans have an amazing time and that all those who were not great fans before, go home converted to Knopflerism!    :D   :P

Let's hope that there will be a DVD made or perhaps even televised - that would be great.  After all it is only a month after his 60th birthday and it needs to be marked in some way.   :)

It doesn't look very hopeful on the official site. I really hoped to get a ticket there, but it's very quiet!
