Can't find anything negative in his answer. ...

LE

When you invite someone to tour with you, socialize with them at least a little is just a matter of respect. I find his answer quite unrespectful with them...

It's like you invite someone to go with you for a walk and spend the walk ignoring him...
You might get lucky, now and then

This interviewer knows his job indeed... he had one of the best interviews with Mark, too: http://members.tripod.com/~Dire_Straits/interview.html
And what about Bob's answer? I think it's great. If I were him, I'd rather not socialise with anybody. Why? See the recent Bill Wyman show.

I love this sentence: "I don't believe in perfect, I just don't believe that. There's so many ways to do any song, perfection's just a cloud in the air." Pretty much how you should look at life :-)

Bob's answer shows, if any, a very healthy view on himself. I think it even makes him  a sympathetic guy.
