Yes Guy said they recorded the demo's with the band and that Mark wrote 26 songs for the musical.

These(demos) will never see the light of day.

My hope has been always that they just use the actors voices and the music from the demos, but I fear they would use not only the actors but also the musical band...

If they release a deluxe version with the demos...

I know we can hardly complain about the level of MK related activity in the last few months - but does anyone sense any desire at all to revive this musical? I’d still hope for a London run.

Guy said in that recent interview that a third run is being planned but nothing else.

Bad news regarding the musical by Guy:

sadly, I wouldn’t hold your breath. There is still a remote chance but I don’t see it as likely.

I hope that at least there is any chance of having the songs released in the future.

Very sad news, this would maybe have been one of the last public MK related events for us to go to.

Literally no target audience apart from the very small elite segment out of the group of die-hard-fans (a dozen amiters, if any.... ?) Who would buy an album from a Musical that nobody has ever heard of and that has been  attended by ....  how many thousand people? No-brainer really.

The Edinburgh run had to be extended and all dates were sold out in 2019.

The run in Chichester in 2022 was also sold out all dates (yes, the theater was way smaller) and there was no option of extend it as there was another play scheduled after.

So I'd say that they were both successful runs, but maybe London is too busy for such a kind of musical.

The cd would be interesting as it includes several songs that are very easy to recognise that are from MK not only for the guitar but for the storytelling.

Also, it is true that it could had been a last chance of seeing MK publicly.

That's how I remembered it too, so I wonder what the reason is for the lack of continuity :think

I'm guessing Mark is either not interested or not capable of travelling to and from London theatre's to work on such an intensive project these days.  We all know how long it took to record the last album; I doubt something arguably more intensive is going to be on his list of priorities these days.

A project like a musical would be an intensive daily workload though.

But doesn’t he plan to spend much time in his studio in London now?
