I just could buy it - 7digital has it in the French store too ! :)

On a first listen I like it (I hardly ever disliked a MK song, save for Song for Sony Liston maybe) but not too excited by it.

But the songs I appreciate most always need to grow on me... Like News or Long Cool Girl...:) So I'll listen to it repeatedly and see.

Like the guitar, the drums and the Sax ! Nice combination !

Yes. As I said, Broken Bird.  ;D

It's way better than Early bird...

That synths, that guitar, that break where MK is singing alone, that break with drums and percussion, when the sax suddenly comes and do a great solo...

My god... This song has everything, except pipes LOL

I LOVE IT

Yes. As I said, Broken Bird.  ;D

All of them in the key of C minor, synths, the clean Strat, vocal mixing quite alike. Not a big fan of Broken Bones but I always thought Early Bird was one of the best tracks from the GL sessions. This new song is absolutely the best of the three!!

Yep.  Way, way better.  I loved it at first and it's actually growing on me!  You can't not like this!!!

When the sax comes in it changes the mood of the song a little but then it changes back again.  The song has so many layers to it.  Guy's enjoying his new synths too and they sound great.

I was working and took a break to go to my car and have a proper listen and when I went out of the car I couldnt believe myself...

Anything came as a big surprise, everything, the break with MK singing along, the drums and percussion break, the sax coming from nowhere... WOW

Yes, WOW

Love your enthusiasm, jbaent!    ;D

I have just downloaded the whole song and have had just one listen so far.   I feel it is a song that will grow and grow on me and they are the songs I prefer!  Now back to a few more listens!   :)

Got the song. Reminds me of late 1990s, early 2000s Mark, which is good! And who can say this song wasn't born 20 years ago :lol

I hate this "pop" intro though. Mark and this pop-delay is different planets to me, for this reason I can't listen to the Submariner ever again. Because of the pop music delays! But in the Submariner there's delays on the vocals to make things even worse. Mark, leave delay to pop stars!

The song definitely has some "He's the Man" vibes to it (which again is early 2000s song).

Bottom line: I like the more back to basics approach, although it was the case with Beryl and we got a completely different album, so let's see how the rest of the album will hold up. I don't think I want to re-listen Good On You Son though, but I'll give it another take for sure.

I've had a few more listens and - I LOVE IT - Mark's voice, percussion, sax, etc, etc!     I love the bit just before the sax starts!

Again, any chance of a link from anybody! I'm a Knopfler freak currently living in Vietnam and can not buy for some unknown reason. A response from anybody and I will mention you in my will! Neville
