A very very boring song. I don't buy an album of Mark for listening this.  :smack

I respect those who love it but I wouldn't want to hear it live. It would be kind of a buzz kill.

No, there is not. But if you find is needed to say the same thing in the 19 threads... Go for it. Quite interesting apports.

It's easy. If I do not know which song I like more than Drover's Road or Nobody's Child or When you Leave or One Song In A Time or .... For me, each is number one. That's all.

That's why you avoid the top five thread.

I think this might just be the masterpiece on the album. I can imagine someone like Diana Krall singing this with an arrangement quite similar to the one on the record. I can see why it’s not to the taste of non-jazz lovers here, but I think this is quite special. In terms of doing it live, no probably not in the huge arenas MK has reverted to, but it would have worked very well at Ronnie Scott’s back in the Hillbilly days.

Yes and I'm shocked that some people dislike the song to the point of not including it in their "best" version of the album. I mean — how on Earth you can dislike the song like that? It's timeless and a classic MK song. It's not even all about jazz that much. It's like minor version of The Ragpicker's Dream — a folk ballad dressed in jazzy clothes. Slow Learner is straight up jazz, but When You Leave has more to it.

For me one of the most beautiful.

I have Slow Learner, Nobody's Child and maybe Floating Away in the same category.
