And I have a question about the term ...

I find "to lighten up" in every dictionary. But heavy up not. So is it indeed not a usual phrase but "invented" by that songwriter as the opposite of lighten  up?

LE
I agree. These are invented words to refer to the opposite of "lighten up".
So the meaning of "why should I lighten up for you if you can’t heavy up for me?" is "why I should make it easy for you if you can't take care of mine?"

Lighten up = take things less seriously
Heavy up = (presumably) take things more seriously

I find this lighten up/heavy up business all rather silly and frankly confusing in a song.

Yes the meaning I understood .. what I meant  was if this "heavy up" was invented so to say by that songwriter or was it a common expression before?

“Heavy up is one of those peculiar, specialized terms in the world of home renovation and electrical systems. Essentially, it means to increase the amperage coming into your house--at the service panel--so that your electrical system can receive and handle an increased load.”

Does it make sense to you guys?

Anyway, I strongly dislike this song, Les Boys level of dislike. Can’t believe it’s on and Don’t Suck Me In isn’t  :'(

So when Mark sings "heavy up for me" that makes him a current?

He's bound to get a real buzz out of playing this one!  Resistance is futile!   :smack :smack

It's a good-mood song and balances out the more serious/somber songs on the album. It's not an amazing song, but not bad, I think.

My capacitance for awful puns is now at a maximum.  One more before I buzz off: R-ohm-eo and Juliet - he can't resist playing it!

Strongly dislike this song. Of course, you can’t like am all but this one sounds so simple and superficial both musically and lyrically that I really can’t stand listening to it. Though I always like Mark’s more serious songs a bit of variety generally doesn’t hurt, however to me this is an exception as it is so far off and plain silly that it destroys the flow of the album.

Strongly disagree. I love this song. Music, mood, vibe at it's best. Great solos, cool rhythm section and very good arrangement. On par with Nobody Does That.
Hope for live version replacing Paraguay.
