the more I listen to this one the more it's absurd to me how this is not in the album

hope it's at least played live, it would be really great

You're right PensaGhost but, unfortunately for us, it's a marketing strategy, it's business. There would be no interest in buying the box set edition without any of the three songs having a reference to the Straits style (at least for most of its old fans). In part the same thing happened with the deluxe version of Tracker that contained Terminal Tribute at the expense of the standard version.

The best song on the album. How could a song like that stay out? I really find Mark's song choices very interesting. Now that you think of a new album from the songs that have not been made since 1996, released a new album. Suppose we listen to all these songs for the first time. Wouldn't that be the best album of Mark's solo career?

I don't want to build his hopes up but I think Dusty will love this one.
Looking forward to it. I hear the early leaks were crap so I'm waiting for good vinyl rips before I listen.

Wowwww, playing this one right now for the first t8me on my turntable and it’s absolutely a killer song. Right from the start I thought OSAAT was already top level but really, this one is amazing! Time to flip to side B... 8) 8)

Mediocre song to me, at its place as bonus track. Pretty rusty, uninspired and repetitive lead guitar playing. And I think the guitar tone/sound is pretty weak as well.

What can I say ?
Once again, the best track is not on the album  :-[

It can't be a surprise anymore.  These guys are profesionnals, their job is to make and sell records, they can't ignore when a song is a gem. You can miss one from time to time, but Kingdom come, Gravy train, camerado, Terminal of tribute to, don't suck me in... that's a lot.

And I don't mention the gems that made the cut on the album but not on the stage (Yon two crows ? Silvertown blues ?)

100% correct and unfortunately the problem is MK, believe me, he makes the decisions.
it's the same guy who released on the night without telegraph tunnel sultans planet, which is the most absurd musical decision in the history of music, so it must come by no suprirse that now, for the 2nd album in a row, the best song is not on the album.

I would pay any sum to have those 4 songs from on the night and any sum for a cd which includes Don't Suck me in but I guess
I won't get any of the 2. Ever. Really sad stuff.

Well we HAVE Terminal Of Tribute To and when I listen to Tracker I have a 18-track-play list. So for me the song belongs to the album. Same with Early Bird and Get Lucky. So we DO get the songs and that's the main thing about it. I am sure these new three songs will be made available sooner or later in digital format for sure and then my DTRW list is 19 tracks.

Agree about On The Night, especially in leaving place for that Encore maxi-CD.  "You had ONE job..."

Not to forget, for OTN: Iron Hand (fantastic live), Portobello Belle, I think I love you too much,...

Seems clear for OTN they wanted a single album for commercial reasons and the tried to have not too much overlap with Alchemy.

LE, guess on guitar after one listen was Gibson 330.

Maybe because it's partly very similar to J.J. Cale's Lies?

Really love this song!    Reminds me a lot of a Malpaso Gang song!     ;)    ;D
