OTN is clearly edited. Really doesn't sound live at all.

Basel is a great REAL representation of that tour.

I remember very clearly going in to buy OTN on the day of release and being very disappointed.

Even aged 14 I could tell it was crap, as I already had the Ticket to Heaven bootleg.

Still it sounds great, The problem is the missing songs, not the sound quality itself
Disagree, to my ears it sounds compressed, mixed to an inch of its life and boring.

The exact opposite of Alchemy.

Very odd that they made such a big deal saying that Alchemy was actually live and then less than a decade later did the opposite.

I agree regarding the SQ.  It's just not really an enjoyable listen.

The big deal about Alchemy being live led me to believe OTN was live too and I'm pretty sure Mark has said in interviews he's against editing.
"I'm playing all the right notes, but not necessarily in the right order."

I talked too soon… Terrible mix for Money for Nothing. Clean, but not well balanced. Voice and guitar over everything else,  an exaggeration.

I missed most of STP at Manchester as security were trying to eject 3 very annoying and disruptive guys who spent most of the song trying to negotiate being allowed to stay (Richard watched on as the shenanigans continued!).

So, looking forward to this!!

Newcastle - more noodling than the norm but alas no real solo as in all versions.  This arrangement promises much but fails to deliver.

Leeds was/is a good version with great sound...

I remember on my way out of the Arena saying to Val that West was a better version in Newcastle, even considering the poor sound from my crappy side seat!  MFN and WAM were better too.

Listening to the whole show on the download I really realise how much my experience was spoiled by the sound and that I missed one of the better shows.  It was probably the best show I attended yet I didn't realise it at the time.

So far, I have only downloaded the Leeds concert, but I intend to download Newcastle too when I have heard the Verona set list.   I thought that Newcastle was the better concert of the two, but I enjoyed MFN from Leeds more than Newcastle at the time.   However I'm really enjoying listening to Leeds and nothing, apart a very slight greenie on R&J, is amiss.

Edit:   @dmg - I've decided to download  Newcastle today following your good review!

When I attended both the Leeds and Newcastle concerts I enjoyed both immensely, but I thought the Newcastle one was slightly better.  However, on listening to the Newcastle download today I now prefer the Leeds concert.   Maybe Newcastle needs a few more listens!  (edited after another listening)!  :)

The sound on both is excellent - crystal clear in fact.

A few comparisons after listening to Newcastle:

WAM:    Very nice - one greenie at 8.02
STP:      I was just thinking how beautiful STP sounds when up popped an iffy note at 5.15
OUATITW:  Excellent!  :thumbsup -  better than Leeds.
R&J:     Good, but I like Leeds better
MBR:    Very nice  :thumbsup
MM:      Excellent!  :thumbsup
SAN:     Leeds definitely better than Newcastle.
MFN:    Leeds better than Newcastle.

All the rest - Both Leeds and Newcastle   :thumbsup

I thought that on some songs from Newcastle, MKs voice sounded rather flat and tired and he was quite croaky at times, but, actually, he was a bit croaky in Leeds too!

I suppose I am just nitpicking really, because they were both great concerts, but it's the Leeds concert I will listen to mostly!

Leeds 9/10
Newcastle 7/10
