Oops forgot about that, had it in my head that he'd used the MK strat (he did for half of the tour in 05 including the show I saw). :)

Hmmm, what about this?

http://www.nytimes.com/1998/08/09/world/on-an-indian-shore-where-ships-go-to-die-profit-is-law.html?pagewanted=all

At least it contains the description of "beaching" a ship and then wrack it down - even the word "hangman" is used... Maybe MK googles a good deal for songwriting these days?  ;D Just remember Boom, like that...

LE

Sorry, I still find this story very interesting. There is this special place called Alang, in Gujarat, India, where exactly everything is happening as told in the song "So Far From The Clyde". It is cheaper for the industrial nations to wreck up their ships over there, also because of environmental reasons.
So this places boomed because of the great amount of scrap. This has a lot to do with money, much money. So the song alone for that reason fits into the context of "Get Lucky".

and

The article however is from 1998. When you use google-earth for that named location, you can see the ships and the oily beach. So I think it is still running that way, maybe even bigger than ever.

In Cleaning My Gun  I'm pretty sure it's

"Blarney and Malarkey, theyre a devious firm
They'll..."

and the other bit sounds like

"I keep a weather eye on the horizon, tap the stormglass now and then
I've got a case of.........."

Didn't want to hear anything till Weds night but I've given in!
