:) Maybe you can ask any of our UK fans to enter on your behalf, if they are unable to attend.  ;) When does the Competition end?

The more entries we can get the better chance we will have of our members gaining entry to the event.  :)

The problem is that i'm not sure to be free to attend it...waiting for answers for jobs...( that's more unfair).
2010 would be easier for me i suppose :D

errr, I mean, UK RESIDENTS!!!! Come on british!!!!  ;D

I met a friend of mine for a bite in London yesterday and we discussed the term 'UK resident'. He is also not British but lives in London. So what does it mean 'UK residents only'? I mean you don't need to have a British passport to be a UK resident, do you? And you don't have the obligation to register in the UK, do you? So how can they check?

Can somebody help here?

BTW, I posted this also on mk.com. But I don't expect an answer, do you?  ;D

a UK resident is somebody who resides in the UK. With an address in the UK. Simple as that, I don't see where the confusion is?

The point is: how do you check? There is no obligation to register! And, a person who 'lives under the bridge' in the UK is not a UK resident then?

Best to ask amazon, it is their competition after all. There is an email address for questions listed in the rules. It is music-questions@amazon.co.uk

However the rules do clearly state that "To enter the prize-draw the entrant must submit their name, e-mail address, mailing address and phone number using the form above within the prize-draw period". So I guess the mailing address you provide will give them a big clue as to whether you are resident in the UK or not!

Also "No physical tickets will be issued. The name of each winner will be held on the door of the venue on the night of the gig. Entrant and guest must be 18 years or over. Photo ID (e.g. passport or driving license) may be required on entry".

But if you do not think they will be able to check, why not take a chance and enter and see what happens?

A driving license or passport does contain information about the country you live in. :)

And of course, you have to fill in your adress, phone number etc. I'm pretty sure they won't call any of the people outside the UK. Takes too long, costs too much, too much effort and there is a chance these people are not able to attend the show. They don't care who will win tickets, as long as they did their job. Let's wait for some extra promo shows. ;)

I've got an European driving licence and a German passport, but I'm a UK resident. You see my point? Sure, I've got a London address but I can pass it to lots of people who could enter the comp then...
Just to remind you there is NO ID system in the UK with your current home address opposite to e.g. Germany.

Hi Martina,
normally with these things proff of address is sought - ie a utility bill (telephone, gas, electric),which will obviously have your name & address on it.
If you put that with your copy of ID then unless PC is at the door you shouldnt have a problem if you are one of the lucky ones.
If it aint broke dont fix it!

Yeah, I know this utility bill thing e.g. for opening a bank account or something. But my husband pays the bills (how it should be and I spend the money  ;)) but his last name is not mine. I still stick to my maiden name. Do I also have to bring our marriage certificate?  But we got married on Hawaii? :o
BTW, it is Mark Knopfler and his wife's name is Kitty Aldridge.
You see the term 'UK resident' is not really defined, you can easily obtain a UK address and UK phone number...
