Will give it a listen, but I don't have high expectations.

This seems very quick, hot on the heels of Heartlands which I've barely had time to listen to properly. Will be interesting to see the results.

I really like the album cover.
Knopfler, Oldfield and Gilmour is all the guitar I need.

I really like the album cover.

It's a painting by his wife, Leslie Stroz, who is an artist and teachs arts. The booklet is full of paintings by her, all of them very nice.

He's put a posting on FB whinging about how little artists get from streaming...and then put the album on streaming services, which he didn't have to do. I'll give it a listen via Qobuz, but there's no way I'd have bought it.

He didn't put it on streaming sites himself. He has a deal with cdbaby to distribute his records via their website and cdbaby put all his stuff on that streaming sites. If you release a cd with your own music and use cdbaby for distribution, it would happen the same to your record...

HI,

I gave it a listen on Apple Music and to be honest I wouldn't have bought it.

I find the album a bit too melancholic, sad, boring, track after track I skipped the songs, it was like when you're looking for sunshine but with each song it rains, maybe I'm not in the right mood ? I think I've always had a problem with his voice.
for me 2/5
If I realised that the chances were slim,
How come I'm so surprised when the tide rolled in

The songs are nice but they are all slow. His last three records are that way.
