it seems that in the UK you are vaccinating people very fast compared to the rest of Europe,
how are you doing it ?

We have only one government to consider not 27 different countries!   Also we were much more agile in signing up to the vaccine - three months before the EU!  We paid for the development of AZ and paid for it up front.

Actually the 27 different countries are under one same wing, the UE, who is buying for all the countries at the same price and distributing it equally, otherwise, if every country had gone by himself, one or two countries with more economical power would buy most of the vaccines and the rest will have less or none. If it wasn't because of this, Spain, Portugal or Greece wouldn't had the number of vaccines we have...

Yes we have had our jabs, thankfully!       

I'm so glad for both of you. My wife will have her first one this week or next, as she works in education. I'll have to wait until the summer probably.

Actually it's only 1 month before EU approval, it seems the difference is in the better logistics

To put it bluntly, the EU are playing politics with lives.  No offence to our German or French friends (although I'm sure they will agree) but Merkel and Macron scaremongering with the AZ vaccine is probably a new low.

surely your fishermen are happy with the humongous gains they got.
still, it will never come this far, all part of the play (from both sides) some last minute solution will pop up.
also, Astra zeneca is not entirely guilt free here (as is the EU for not signing better deals and now having to resort to this shit)

I think dmg wasn’t talking about the current EU threats, but rather the AZ scaremongering from Macron and others.

I agree with dmg on this. I hate anti Vaxxers, whether they are heads of state or idiots on Facebook.

Incidentally I had my AZ vaccine two weeks ago and I’m still alive and feeling great.

I agree with you.   It should be mandatory, especially for care home staff.  The only exception should be those who have allergies.

Some people have allergic reactions to certain foods, medicines etc.   Also people with certain ailments could be exempt.

I didn't say punishment.   The vaccine is the only way to stop thousands and thousands of people dying unnecessarily from this terrible virus.   It is the way to freedom.  I do happen to care about what happens to the human race, btw!
