I totally agree. The 1996 tour was fresh and powerful.
I also agree.

The show I saw in Aberdeen had tracks from every DS album and lots of new material.

Pushing three hours as well! Mark was back in love with music after the slog that was the OES tour and it was a joy to witness.

Three hours is a perfect duration for a show. You can do some encores, play a lot of songs and make everyone happy. I think 2 hours, of which 30 minutes is just Telegraph Road and Marbletown, and 2-hour shows, in general, is criminal. Especially considering outrageous prices for shows nowadays! Even standard rehearsal time in studios is usually 3 hours, that's a perfect number. Paul McCartney and John Lennon would write songs in 3-hour sessions every day and finish one song in each.

True indeed, I still have a GH tour ticket somewhere which was around €18-19 for a 2,5+h show. :clap

"It’s a weird one this but I think Mark looks fresher and younger with very little hair 25 years later than he does in this show"

I think the same  :D

Had to read that statement twice!  I think once he shaved off all that long dry hair he had sticking out the sides of his headband on the OES tour he also shaved a decade off his age.  Nowadays he looks probably about decade older than he is imho.

I have always had mixed feelings about the tour.  No doubt his playing was still there but there was too much film stuff slowing the pace down during the shows.  I also felt  his LP was still such a novelty at that time he was using it on songs where another guitar would be more appropriate.

I'm really nitpicking because a 2.5 - 3 hour show in an intimate venue is just the ticket.  It's what we've been dreaming about since.

That was clearly the case with the OES Tour, when he used the Pensa at every song. But not with LP on the Golden Heart Tour.
It dominates, OK, but it is a unique Guitar, isn't it?

I cannot understand why MK suddenly began to use his LPs in the middle position (Both Pickups). I prefer his setup for use the Neck pickup only.

It's true the Pensa-Suhr was overused on the OES tour, however it was designed from scratch as a Jack-of-all-trades guitar.  It still didn't sound too good on BIA or MFN though.

Yes, LP was overused (slightly) on GH tour, on The Bug for example, crazy.

Cannibals as well, although it was great on the cool intro.

I finally got around to watching this and really enjoyed it.
Much better than most of the subsequent tours in almost all aspects, apart from chatty MK in 19.
Just MK and Jim would do me for the next tour.

There are up and downs on ANIL but the tour was on a general level very great. I hope they will release the full RAH show one day.
