Funny that I never ever pictured Mark with a particular type of guitar. Because he had so many songs and stages of his career with different instruments, it's hard to imagine a more versatile guitar player in the way he uses each instrument to its full potential and how each instrument serves the song.

When it comes to imagine Mark Knopfler with a guitar the first that comes to my mind is him with a RED Fender Stratocaster. 
Second with his old Gibson Les Paul, third a Pensa-Suhr and last but not least with his beautiful National Steel. 
But there are lots of others he absolutely plays brillantly.
